Yes Monaghan too low and Derry could be a couple of places higher.
Tyrone should be around 12th.

Still only the league yet. Come an all ireland quarter final would have Tyrone right in that bunch of teams with Donegal Mayo Armagh and Galway.

Tyrone have only got to one all Ireland quarter final in the past 5 years. Generous to put them in that Company

Come summer, you don't think Tyrone would be in with a good shout against any of those teams?

With certain exceptions when one is particularly weak e.g. ourselves (Donegal) in 2023, I'd always rate our chances as 50/50 going into any match against Tyrone.

You're quite correct its is just the one quarter final in the past 5 years plus winning it and a semi final in that time too.

2021 - winners
2022 - 1st round qualifiers
2023 - quarter final
2024 - last 12
2025 - semi final

We're not going well at the minute but would still be confident of getting to the quarters and then after that who knows.

There's no debating where Tyrone have been in recent years, but it does feel like they are slipping backwards at the minute.
There is still reliance on some of the older lads despite the perceived quality coming through from recent u20 success. With the new rules, size around the middle is key - Tyrone's incoming talent seem to be smaller than most of the main contenders.
It genuinely feels like Tyrone are entering a transitional period with a changing of the guard and as a result I'd have them around that 11/12 spot in the rankings.

I'm surprised Roscommon are not higher given their performances to date this year.

Derry at 10 is probably about right - again I think we'll struggle with the size in the middle area when up against some of the top 5 teams.

Kerry/Donegal - either could be 1/2 at the minute.
Then there's nothing between Galway, Mayo, Armagh, Roscommon for those next few slots.

The only "power rankings" currently are the NFL tables.
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

I meant since 2021, apologies I forgot about their pathetic 2023 qf performance. My main point is that they've been terrible since they won it and haven't even got near an Ulster final never mind leaving a mark on the AI series. I'm not sure how they managed to get to a SF last year. I think because they lucked out playing Donegal immediately after an epic Ulster final battle in the groups

An Watcher

Think that donegal game was 2 weeks after an ulster final that they won.  Plus it was in ballybofey.  Would have taken your point in board if tyrone had been at home, donegal had lost the ulster final or thr game had been a week later.

Was the tyrone armagh game a semi final last year or a quarter.  The one that armagh cantered to win with a last minute free.  Mightn't have been a semi though.

One last point.  Whoever drew meath between tyrone and donegal last year was going to make the final

So many ifs and buts though

gallsman

When you say "they haven't even got near an Ulster final..."

Didn't they lose an Ulster semi-final last year by a point?

I think they're a bit off the maybe 4 or 5 teams that you'd look at right now as real AI contenders, but you don't need to make up complete horseshit about them.
