Both of them decisions are a joke.

How did lad from Loughrea get off?

At times, I'm all for take the punishment but the 2 red cards for Glass and Beirne were a joke.

Can Derry and Kildare not re-appeal that?

GTP

The Loughrea one went to the Disputes Resolution Authority (DRA) I would say that option remains available. I believe on technicality rather than evidence he didn't do it. In the Loughrea case the appeal was upheld as they "heard the evidence submitted by the Claimant and reviewed the video and decided that the evidence was not compelling such as to rebut the Referee's Report". I would imagine it is something similar in these cases.
Will be interesting to see if any similar incident see red cards issued this weekend.
I am going to guess Paul Cassidy to midfield with M Downey starting.

It is a joke. The fact that they were both red in the first instance, and that they have been upheld. I'd say time is not on Conor's side to be able to take it any further. From our point of view, there could have been worse games to lose him from than this weekend's game.

R Scullion in goals
R O'Mianain in at 8
S Young and S Downey named to start. Not much experience on the bench but plenty of potential. Defence has been solid so far and forwards improving from first day out. Would be nice to get a convincing victory at home to build momentum.

Ryan Mulholland and Conall Higgins back in, Conor McAteer leaves the panel entirely with Jack Doherty not far behind. Newbridge should be a force in league again with Oisin Doherty opting out, McAteer and the two McGrogans at MF

Goalkeeper got his jaw broke in a frontal shoulder in a ball the Kildare man was never winning, not even a yellow card straight in front of Gough. Minor contact with Glass and he send off. This weekend not the point, Meenagh likely not played him anyway. Its if he gets send off later in the year.

He did, appeared in every game so far I think but I heard yesterday he's quit altogether

disappointing to here I thought he was coming on rightly. Massive commitment but and not for everyone.

That is disappointing he's some option off the bench with his pace and mazy runs. He has good feet as well I thought he could have been important this year!

I'd settle for a 1 point win ... Harte involved with Offaly will know the Derry players

Wildweasel74

Lad been involved in all games and goes,we need forward power of the bench. Offaly be the weakest team we play, am not sure why we not trying a few more men out.

Mario

In no other top county would a player that has featured in every game just decide to walk off the panel in mid February. Meanwhile Armagh, Tyrone, Donegal all have massive panels and everyone seems happy. I thought he looked very good for a man that had never played county and was looking forward to seeing him on the harder ground.

They are down a lot of players through injury but Derry can't afford to take their eye off the ball in this one.

Not being too cocky but both teams seem to be going in opposite directions at the minute. Derry, I hope, will get the win and improve their score difference in terms of league table as it could matter by the end of league.

BTW, anybody know the exact wording of Glass' appeal statement? The GAA's disclipline process is a joke.

I said when Burns came in as President he should have one focus on his legacy. Disclipline. Sort it out - the 2 cases in Kildare V Derry are a prime example. Getting sent off a joke. Then the appeals are a joke. While the 2 lads trying/suceeding to get them sent off get off scot free. I don't get how the Loughrea lad got off and these 2 lads didn't. I know the Loughrea player was going to miss the AICF but that's not my point. The discliplinary process...or lack of it is my point

Could Burns not set up a panel of 5 to review the GAA's discliplinary procedures and write a new one up. Then follow rugby's plan and have a panel of 3 people to review incidents every Monday and sort it out properly.
