If there isn't a massive improvement from here on, the McCabe project will be dead before it takes a proper breath at all. Amid all the negativity, though, the only comfort is that maybe Offaly and Louth are slightly worse but they could improve and will be rightly lining us up for two points just as much as we are them.

Monaghan must be dying to get at us in the championship!

Having played both Cavan and Louth and seen both first hand. Louth have a little more about them. That doesn't mean Cavan won't or can't beat them. Just an observation. Meath took the foot off the pedal big time against Louth. If Cavan don't give everything they could be gone

Yep, especially after the final quarter on Sunday past, Cavan have surrendered any right to even a modicum of self confidence.

Some tasty games this weekend. Can't understand how Meath and cork isn't been shown anywhere. But sure they're you go

The winner of that game would be well on the way for promotion . Cork have been a long time in Division 2. They struggle against Tyrone and Derry and have both of them away.

Captain Scarlet

IF Kildare can win on Sunday that's just a massive boost with so many lads missing still. It also allows give more game time to lads who will be starters come championship.
Alex Beirne's appeal is this evening, so that could have a big say on things. But you would imagine they wouldn't be disputing it if they weren't confident.

Cavan have been shocking unlucky in 2 of the 3 games, so it's hard to call above in Breffni.
them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.

cavanmaniac

Whatever Cavan have in the locker, you'll see it this weekend. What that will actually look like - backs to the wall and fighting for their lives - or whether it will even be good enough, is anyone's guess. This is one of the games they've a realistic chance of winning and if they don't do so, well then f**k it, they deserve to be in Division 3 and that's the end of it.

Captain Scarlet

Alex Beirne suspended. That leaves us missing a lot up top.
A couple of lads only coming back from injury might need to step it up.

Even people in Cork would not watch Cork.

Jimmy Hyland was a good prospect a few years ago. Is he still on the panel? Jack Robinson was a good underage forward too.

Captain Scarlet

Jimmy is a great lad but he is riddled with hamstring injuries and other tweaks.
He is a great club man and will always tog out, even if he isn't right so he never gets 100%.

He is on the panel but being minded. Robinson was in the States, played for New York and is in there too, due back at some stage.

Kildare have some amount of lads due back still.

Even people in Cork would not watch Cork.

Some soccer manager said of some opposition team if they were playing in his back garden, he'd close the curtains.

A huge chunk of Cork GAA hurling folk think like this about their footballers.

The hurling bandwagon has a tonne of momentum at the moment in Cork which never helps.

In my experience and from what I've heard from people I think Cork is the county with the strongest divide between hurling and football, which is mad given how much the county goes on about being a dual-county.

Rossfan

The hordes leaving after the hurling before the Cork/Ros football was something else last March.
Half of those who stayed back had gone by half time, presumably were only waiting for the traffic to clear!
Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

Desperate that. Stuff like that made Tipp embarrassing them last year all the sweeter.
