No harm to him but I think Daly is the only player that could miss that and I wouldn't be shocked about it

cavan have been poor this 2nd half. Needed to man mark canavan for a start, buy defensively very poor.
And they need to find a few forwards

Only tuned in for most of the second half, but as was widely anticipated by many, yet another ritual humiliation for Cavan at the hands of Tyrone, the game ending in familiar style with most of the players chasing shadows, having largely thrown in the towel. Cavan fans have seen this movie too many times before.

I can't speak to what happened in the first half, all I know is that practically all Tyrone scores I witnessed arrived after long enough sequences of play where not one single Cavan player laid a hand on an opponent, much less a tackle. Contrast that with Tyrone immediately having two hungry men on top of any Cavan player in possession, quite rightly getting hands on him, jostling, dunting, buffeting them. Watching Cavan's defending, you'd think they were playing tag rugby or something. Lamentably bad.

Whatever the new manager bounce may have been, it's gone now. Offaly, Kildare, Louth are all must-win games under extreme pressure, and if I could be so bold as to offer a radical suggestion to Cavan, it would be to at least make some effort to interrupt or even try to irritate your opponent somewhat when he's touring the entire pitch free as a bird, manufacturing and taking scores. I dunno, maybe it'd help?

Can't believe Cavan gave Darragh Canavan the amount of space they did.

There was no new manager bounce. 2 defeats in the McKenna Cup and the first 2 League  games before today. Cork and Meath should have been well ahead in both first halfs against Cavan. Brutal wides kept Cavan in it .
Cavan started off ok today like they did in the past against Tyrone for the first 20 minutes but just wilted after the second goal.

You are generous. Stand only 1/3 full. Was on opposite side freezing. Bad atmosphere, bad venue, bad opponents - sums up today.

There will be a bigger crowd at most league games in round 1 of the ACL when it kicks off in May time. Honestly much better supported at club level

I think it Was a bad sign how Cavan let Tyrone take over down the stretch, and especially widen the gap on the scoreboard. With 2 losses already I would have thought Cavan would have worked far harder to at least try to keep the losing margin down. The fact that Tyrone outscored them 8 points to 1 in the final quarter and so many of the Tyrone scores came after weak lazy Cavan defending is not a good sign for their survival prospects. Themselves and Offaly both with 3 losses now and score differences of -15 (Cavan) and -19 (Offaly) are in serious relegation trouble.

Cavan are useless. Seen Tyrone hammer them in championship in Omagh last year and when they met later Cavan cynically targeted Michael McKernan. Not unheard of for Cavan down the years but have no football to back it up.

In my innocence and eternal hope of things never being quite as bad as I dare to imagine, I thought Cavan might at least manage to replicate the competitiveness of the Cork and Meath games. But no, once confronted with boogeyman Tyrone (whether a good Tyrone team or a bad one, it makes no odds to Cavan) we throw shapes for a while and then squeal like mice when they turn the screw even a little. All the endemic frailties, vulnerabilities and shortcomings that have dogged us for years were laid bare yet again today. Mentality is square one, team sport 101 stuff, and for us to show so little sign of addressing this massive elephant in the room bodes very, very ill for McCabe's reign and the years ahead in general. We embarrass ourselves repeatedly with this sort of nonsense.

Hard to know with Meath. On one hand they've won 3 in a row but on the other they beat a Derry team that weren't at races first day out and only for Flynn they could be in a relegation battle.

They still to play Tyrone Cork and Kildare who most would class as the top 5 in the division.

Yeah, we're only a few kicks of a ball from being on 0 points. We've been far from flawless despite the wins and the second half yesterday was particularly bad.

We're putting out our championship team at this point, no experimenting at all going on really bar one or two getting a run. Cork and Tyrone are going to take a full 70 minutes to get something from those games. Kildare too.
It won't be the next manager but the one after that Meath will become competitive again - MO'D 2016

Darragh Canavan going to Australia for a month will weaken Tyrone for rest of the league.
Cavan and Offaly look down and out but momentum can swing very easily in this division. Teams would want to get to 6 points ASAP so they can look up rather than down.

Real classy post there, I'd say all the Division 1 teams along with some Division 2 teams would say Tyrone are useless too. It's all relative I guess, plus McKernan no angel himself.

It does weaken Tyrone, but Ethan Jordan didn't get much game time today. Darren Mccurry and Ruairi Canavan are both close to returning. Should be fine.
