"The brutal truth is that the vast majority of people I met, and I met many during the last week, consider our Labour Government to be a front organisation for paedophiles and Pakistani rape gangs. They consider our position on the Chagos Islands an example of progressive idiocy and our appointment of Peter Mandelson an unnecessary provocation. Several people showed me a photograph of him blowing out the birthday candles with Jeffrey Epstein.

The Chagos Islands deal was agreed by the previous Tory Gov.

Also,
   guess who Mandelson rents his gaff from?

It isn't a Russian Oligarch, no it's a Rothschild.

Who knew?

Just like the Dems in the USA you wonder how bad they can be. I mean they don't seem to stand for anything and leave themselves open to ridicule ALL the time.
It doens't help that the middle class media love the Tories and now Reform, but Christ they are so so wwatery in everything they do.
them mysterons are always killing me but im grand after a few days.sickenin aul dose all the same.

What exactly is the "middle class" media?

Most of the UK media has spent the guts of the last decade pillorying the Tories.

Both have sold themselves to be for the common man and minorities. But like their opponents they are the other cheek of the same asshole.

Captain Scarlet

Laura K and the likes in the BBC have not been pillorying the Tories for a decade. It was a love-in with Boris and they pretty much created Farage.

Andrew Neill, Spectator, Telegraph and the likes attacked the Tories when it was impossible not to.

As Chris Mason notes "Starmer, the man who arrived in Westminster in his fifties and travels light ideologically".

That neatly sums up the people currently in British political life:

they don't know what they stand for, politically;

they've absolutely no idea what they want to achieve, if they get into power;

it's just a job & the main idea seems to be to cosy up to the rich, powerful & influential, giving them exactly what they want, in the hope that some of that wealth will eventually get into the politicians' pockets too.

Anywhere else, it would be labelled corruption. A complete bunch of spivs, the whole lot of them.

imtommygunn

When you say they don't know what the stand for do you mean Labour? Labour have been lost for years. They're tory lite. Starmer is useless.

While things are bad Farage in charge doesn't really bear thinking about. That ICE crowd in the states could be replicated you'd imagine.

Labour/Tory, they're  all the  same. All bought and controlled by lobbyists. They  tell them what they  stand for.

Yes, I meant Labour.

The only time that the English electorate seems to be prepared to tolerate Labour in power nowadays is after there's been a long period of Tory misrule, after which time that party has totally run out of any ideas, coherence & credibility & the administration has completely disintegrated, into factional infighting; allied to which you will also have a Labour party which has ditched any ideological baggage that might scare the great English public off, in order to gain power....1997 & 2024 spring to mind.

Going forward, you could easily foresee the English moving their votes over, in their droves, to give that spiv Farage his chance at the next election....that's how stupid they are.

100%. Starmer is the type of guy who would push his granny down the stairs if he stood to gain from it and felt he could get away with it.

bennydorano

Starmer's biggest problem is that he's not a natural politician, never was.

In what way? Johnson, Truss and Sunak were all figures of complete and utter ridicule. You all know this.

Corbyn was shit and he lost. Get over it.

The really wild take is that the BBC is "middle class media". What do working class people watch? Channel 5?

We all knew that, when one of the first actions of his government was to attempt to abolish the Winter Fuel Allowance....only a complete & utter idiot would have tried to pull off that stroke.

Labour's attitude was to look around in 2019, to see what their least worst option was whose name wasn't Corbyn & they came up with Starmer.

They might as well have gone for Tony Robinson, with all his Labour NEC experience; at least he would have had a cunning plan somewhere.

Are you seriously suggesting there is not a very obvious bias from the likes of the Daily Mail, BBC, Spectator, Express etc.

Boris himself being a former MSM journalist, Michael Gove's wife, David Cameron, Andy Coulson etc etc etc. You don't think Rupert Murdoch, Andrew Neil, Kuennsberg, Piers Morgan all the other heavy hitters in MSM aren't pro-Tory? I don't know why I'm even engaging with you here as it's clear you are just being contrarian and attempting to troll.
