Quote from: Truth hurts on January 15, 2026, 11:04:03 AMDown GAA need to back Saval tonight and become a leader within the organisation. All delegates and county officers should be supporting this. I hope that everyone in the club has had an opportunity to cast a vote on this issue.

Saval pulled the motion. No other club supported it.

That statement is lies!
I was told that . What is correct.? How many  lubs supported the County team being pulled from the leagues?

It never went to a vote, no clubs had a chance to support it.

Not lies.....can you confirm where the support was coming from?

Some idle speculation going on here. Amazing how people can interpret silence as aligning with their own thinking.

Unless you were involved in the conversations between Saval and Down County Board, then the only thing any of us know is that after those conversations happened, Saval pulled their motion from last night's meeting, and both parties subsequently issued vague statements, including a request for HQ to make a donation to Palestinian aid.

It is false to claim that clubs did not support the proposal because it was never brought to the table, which prevented clubs from speaking on it.

The statement "Saval pulled the motion. No other club supported it" is only a lie and or false if there is evidence another club did support the motion e.g. through a statement on social media or to the press.
No one has presented any evidence of support from other clubs, so you are merely speculating it is true. If you can show it is a lie and there was some support then post it, simply disagreeing with people and saying they are wrong does not help your argument to support this cause.

I'm sure you realise it's equally as false to claim that clubs did support it.

Charlie Smyth on the gaa social podcast this week, comes across really well, a good listen.

Can anyone share asto whether Tom Mc Grattan is available to the hurlers for league campaign this year. His loss from an ACL injury last year was a hammer blow for Joe mc Donagh campaign.

With ACL injuries your typically out for a full year maybe more depending on when he had surgery. Hopefully he's back soon but since the injury occurred around the league final and I'd have thought he wouldn't be back until the same time this year.

Wasn't sure if not but the recovery from ACL's is much shorter now that the traditional year it was say 3 years ago and prior to that. He's such a key component to this team and their scoring threat that they will need him if any chance of staying in Division 1b

According to my sources he's on track to make it back in Spring time, whether that's for the county I wouldn't be sure.

Will CL have a full squad to pick from for Sat evening v Clare. Looking forward to it. Great to have the league back.

Im looking forward to seeing Liam Kerr under the new rules, he has the potential to make a similar impact as Murdock last year. Different types of players but both can have a huge impact on games.

Barry O'Hagan I heard is back as well, if he is fully fit, himself and Havern had a very good understanding from the get go, seemed to compliment each other. After his injury woes, maybe coming off the bench with his 2 point threat is more realistic, he would have been a great option v Galway last year.

Im looking forward to Saturday evening too, it will be interesting to see the starting 15, I don't think Laverty will have the luxury of experimenting in the league this year. Promotion is vital.

Will there be any coverage of tomorrow's game on TV or radio?
