Took a very dangerous one over his head.

However this finishes we look so much better prepared for the new season compared to last year.

Interstellar

Kickouts been a problem that half. Losing midfield and a big hole in the middle of our defence. Donegal certainly the more physical. Take the 3 point lead at half time.

Wildweasel74

Well both there midfielders over 6ft 4. We guilty of some bad passing

OakLeaf

Conor Glass doesn't look fit. Bad kickouts costing us

I think he looks completely out of his depth, kick outs have been very average at best. One good save and caught decent ball above his head after that not sure what has been solid.

We're light in half back squad players. Shea Downey poor and Mark Doherty is just too small. Baker reverted back to how he was every game last year bar Dublin game, slow to move ball.

Wildweasel74

Which out any of then look fit? Donegal way fitter again at this stage of year.Never seen a county Team who has as many goalkeeping/bad goal fuckups as Derry past 3 years since the Fermanagh game in 2023.

OakLeaf

We've been overrun since halftime. We don't look anywhere near fit. None of the newer lads really showing much.

All true. Given we start the league with two of our hardest games, you'd think we'd be further on fitness wise.

Some crying for second week of Jan. Nothing to do with fitness imo, the game changed on the goal which was a gift

I doubt they gonna have to play Higgins middle of the field this year, we getting horsed out if it. Maybe with Rodgers and Glass at 11.

jb77

We have a 5ft 10 midfielder lined out, he's dropping back to halfback come league what's all the panicking

GTP

Always seem to have too many men ahead of the ball when they lose a kickout. Perhaps better seeing the problems now than in the league.

Ryan O

I appreciate he's at best our 3rd choice keeper but the lad had a shocker.
Ethan and Paul Cass had poor enough days out, Niall Toner just not himself in first couple of games. Baker too lax on the ball thinks he has loads of time and then gets into a fluster.

Loughlin and Murray looked really sharp at times. Conor Mc Ateer and Sean Kearney causing plenty of trouble.
No panic but we've a level to go up yet at least, granted we've massive players to return. So do Donegal.

Interstellar

Lack of midfield and no-one showing for short kickouts puts a lot of pressure on whoever the goalkeeper is. We let Donegal away too easily at kicouts. The last 2 Donegal scores shows up how weak Derry are in this regard. On the scoreboard the goal for Donegal was the difference but overall they were better than us. Have Derry lost their attacking nous which was a highlight under Gallagher? I know it's only January but Meath in Croke Park looks a step too far at this stage.
