Could be a stupid question but could they replace it with an U20 competition? Shame to have some minor players not old enough to play senior sitting around if minors are put out early

Aren't going ahead. Clubs weren't interested in them continuing.
Reserves starting mid April.
Seniors starting mid May - depending on U20 progress.

And clubs training from early December?

Tattyreagh out training this week. Complete stupidity, but then again they have a big push to get back to the dizzy heights of 3A for next year so they might feel this will give them an edge ???

They have the holy trinity back this year. Outside championship contenders, worth a backing

Junior is between Fintona, Stewartstown and Tattyreagh if Darcy, Harkin & Murray are back.

Beragh with 28 players at their collective gym sessions from 2/3 weeks prior to Christmas. Great turn out to say the least regarding their low population. Everyone buying in to it. Heard a few teams in the East have been running the roads together. That's the thing now with club football most players aren't going out to become better at football, its more that everyone is looking after themselves.

Can we really sit here and say thats a joke? Its not like teams are training on the pitch 2/3 nights a week like they will be soon. People on here are not with the times at all.

A good s&c program will give huge benefits to teams during the winter. But the real work is done on the pitch in february, its then you will see how many of the lads really want it.

Collective training organised by the management team 5-6 months before the league starts is a joke, people wonder why so many young players are getting out of the game, it is unreasonable to expect players to make that kind of commitment to play club football. I have worked with a lot of so called top managers, most of them work on a minus 6 week rule, they get the players together 6 weeks before the date of the first game, that's not to say they don't advocate the players getting together 6-8 weeks before that to do gym and/or running sessions, so lets just say 3 months in total, but this carry on of getting collective training in place 5 months before a ball is kicked is a joke.
Hunger and enjoyment are 2 vital ingredients, you can't have hunger if you are doing it every week, enjoyment goes out of it when you are doing it every week, it becomes a chore, that's the last thing you want as a manager. Quality not quantity...most players nowadays are looking after themselves physically, so you're not starting off with men coming back 2-3 stone overweight like back in the day, when people realise that you have to have enjoyment and hunger, they'll see better results, only team that should be training collectively in Tyrone at the present is Clogher, fair play to them!

Absolutely — though I'm not on board with your second point. We'll find out who wants it in October.

Some teams need the training before others. Thankfully our boys could do with starting in April which I think is the plan. Got to time it right as well with a good championship draw (3 newly promoted teams) I think we could give it a good rattle.

And they all need the hunger and they all need to enjoy it  :)
I would hazard a guess that a lot of these teams that are training collectively for months before a ball is kicked have paid outside managers, maybe I'm wrong...

Donaghmore might want to think about starting a bit earlier if they want to avoid getting caught up in the relegation picture.
