Funeral takes place this morning for Liam Campbell, who was the last surviving member of the first ever Tyrone team to win an All Ireland title, 1947 minors the Thomas Markham Cup.
He played for Coalisland Fianna and won an O'Neill Cup in 1955.
Was also on the St Patrick's College, Armagh team that won the first Hogan Cup competition in 1946 and won three MacRory Cup medals.
May he Rest In Peace.

Strong team named.

By my reckoning the following players from last years squad have yet to be named (excluding retirements and McGeary):

Teague
Hampsey
Kennedy
Darragh Canavan
Daly
McElholm
Ruairi McHugh
Shea O'Hare
Aodhan Donaghy
Michael O'Neill

I'd expect the first 7 are just injury related or have been given some extra time off but O'Hare, Donaghy and O'Neill could have well have dropped off?

Ben Hughes has yet to feature, he was mentioned as a call up by Irish News so probably injured. Is Dalaigh Jones on the panel or not? Would be very surprising if he didn't get a call up given his club form. Conor Cush also probably not involved this year either.

Ben McDonnell, gray

I'd say the panel is flexible enough over the past few weeks, even up until the league starts.

Good chance to have a big panel of 45, then cut it down week on week to 35. I think there will always be lads injured and not training for one reason or another.

Plus you'll need at least 30 fit players for in-house games. Then pick your 15 starters from that.

McDonnell yes, definitely one I would expect to feature. Would be surprised if Gray is still there. Think we have have much better options than him there in the half forward line and midfield.

McDonnell still injured is he? Didn't feature in league for Errigal and didn't look fit in championship

Niall Devlin and Ruairi Canavan both subbed off today for tight hamstrings

Hand of God

Anyone catch the game today? Any standout performances?

Didn't see it myself but Jordan and Conroy seemed to be among the scorers albeit a few frees in there.

Was at the game and Conroy and Jordan did rightly. Conroy won and got more on a bit more ball but both got a real good score each. Both proper forwards that look to shoot and interesting to see if they get much game time.

Ronan Cassidy looking good and Conor Oneill look solid player at this level so far. Mattie D looks tip top shape.

It will be interesting to see what Malachy thinks his best team is

Sounds promising. We certainly should have a bit more scoring power in our forward options this yea you'd imagine. Conroy has a bit of size which can be a welcome addition..it will be interesting to see how the team lines out for the opening league match
