Quote from: Ryan O on October 30, 2025, 07:37:54 PMThere's a couple of St Bridgids men on the panel.

I thought Charlie had good championship lacked some help for Bellaghy but definitely looked like good forward.

Hard to justify Anton Tohill being there played one game since Derry season ended although he is a serious athlete.

Does Ryan Mc Nicholl from Glenullin deserve a chance?

Yes both Matthew and Shae Downey back on the panel. Heard that bridges were starting to be built with them and Lavey. Path being created for their rightful return.

Heard a similar rumour at the weekend that the Downey's could be back at Lavey at some stage. Thought it would be impossible to come back from.

Lavey are not far away from a Derry C/ship. If Downeys return that would push them into a very healthy position.
I'll be devils advocate as argue the opposite, time will tell if it happens but theres alot of politics involved there.

I would be of the same opinion. I went through Maghera with Seamus and Henry, and as of 1 year ago they were 100% never going back. It would be some turnaround if they did. Things can change though, but it would be a big surprise.

if the young lads had any balls about them they would've stayed in the first place, seamus threw the dummy out with the bath water,I'd say they're looking at newbridge and thinking that could've been them just as easy winning derry

Yeh have to agree with that, spot on. Lavey have every bit as much talent as Newbridge I'd say. If Downeys could see the wood for the trees they'd be a threat in 2026

This is 100% true, we aren't talking about couple u16s here. These were two county footballers who left because my daddy told me too. Shows some lack of a back bone. Two lads who bought into their families hype.
1 full year in the reserves before even allowed to be considered for Senior team.

I hope they've broad shoulders as senior football pitches aren't renowned for being  very sympathetic.

How many senior clubs in Derry are on the management hunt?

Glen
Slaughtneil
Magherafelt? (I assume Louth full time)
Swatragh
Kilrea

Thats what I've heard so far.

Div.2 a great place for Derry to start again and reset. I'd see Derry doing very well next year. Meenagh is the right man at the right time I think.

New home jersey 06.11.25 – 7:30PM. Don't know if that is the red or white one.

A few lads are not included in the Senior panel this year from last years squad. A couple of those left out make no sense. It will be real kick in the teeth for anyone who has committed or for those with hopes of breaking through if two men playing Antrim and have done nothing to deserve places come in.

So, you think Meenagh won't be picking the strongest possible panel available to him? Strange strange take considering they haven't had a collective training session yet. Why would he or any other manager with set targets do this?

quit yo jibbajabba

Who's out. If you know, why not name them

The squad apart those still playing are back in the gym at least 2 weeks. How do 2 fellas that have done nothing in Antrim and very little when they were there add to the panel ? Sure we can wait to see when the full squad is listed to see who is there. Not usually done by Derry but maybe this year.
