For sure that's what some people do, and they can be excellent at it. Ali is probably the most revered athlete of all time and he was, frequently, a horrible bastard altogether.

I only ever watched the fights, never the build ups so I missed  lot of this - until the Mayweather stuff. I just seen an Irishman doing well on the world stage and was supportive of him.
Now I have him blocked on all forms of SM and avoid anything to do with him when he is TV or whatever

It's really impressive how you managed to get that Tyrone Derry game from 30 years ago into a thread like this 

Honestly think as a northern nationalist Michael Martin is a massive letdown. He seems to think the troubles involved the IRA only, then there are things like the photo opportunity in Israel and various other things. That's not to get into the specifics of any of that but he just is a particularly useless individual and when you would really aspire to be reunited and then see that it is really quite infuriating.
