BBC giving hatton the credit with a footnote to Lowry 😳🥴

Given the abuse players received over 3 days, it probably goes down and one of the greatest, Bradley now yapping about the envelope rule, yet to address the elephant in the room concerning the relentless abuse from those halfwits.

Given the dearth of away wins in the competition it'll still go down as a triumph!

The way it was going if Lowry hadn't get that half point to get to 14 there wasn't a hope in hell those last 3 Europe lads were going to do enough to get Europe across the line.

One full point on the last day and a gimme 1/2 point for someone injured ... feels like a keep the head down and get out of there kinda of robbery. Its a win but a very poor one! What does McIlroy expect his behaviour like someone from East Belfast not Holywood.

Agree with this Lowrys 2nd shot into 17 under that pressure was unbelievable - considering Henleys shot just before - when I saw it I thought USA will get the win they deserve!

Correct. Had he lost, there is no guarantee that Tyrrell Hatton or Robert MacIntyre would have held on for halves in the final matches. The home crowd would have stayed and bolstered their opponents.

That took some guts from Shane to carve out the half. He had to sink a putt to survive on 17 also.
Him and McIlroy especially had experienced a hostile time from the crowd, so it's the best way to shush the trash talkers.

By the same token, if the openers Rose and Fleetwood hadn't lost on the final hole and if Fitzpatrick hadn't blown up when 5-up, Europe would have had an easier time in the remaining matches and gathered more points.

It had Brookline 1999 written all over it for a while yesterday!

FFS get over yourself it's a 3 day competition, split into 5 sessions, Europe won 4 sessions, it was an amazing victory in a hostile atmosphere, had they won the 5th session you'd probably be saying yanks threw it.

Did you just tune in on Sunday!

Lowry's shot was into 18. He was 55-60 feet away on 17.

I meant 18.

It was a fantastic final day, the US team threw the kitchen sink and Europe and almost got the job done. Rory was utterly spent after the first 2 days. Fitzpatricks half point was massive and been overlooked as Bryson was US star player for me. He came back like a train after a poor start but Fitzie held on. Lowry was also ruined but pulled that half out of the fire. Incredible drama.

In relation to the crowd stuff, it was a handful of idiots and they get all the attention, 90% of the supporters were fantastic but as it is online the trolls and the idiots get the notice.

Also in regards to the envelope rule, that was created in the 70's surely it's a big enough tournament for each team to bring and extra player in the event of injury from now on.

The injury sub could become the tactical sub.
Rasmus Højgaard would have been 'injured' on Saturday if there was a player in better form on the bench.

That was an incredible Sunday evening entertainment and I even stayed up to watch the post match ineterviews.

Luke Donald's humility is in complete contrast to that of Bradley, DeShampoo and the oul Orange fcukwit.

Hope everything is back to normal at the next PGA tour competition where European golfers and playing.
