Actually the whole country is off the charts. And all the people in Ireland who are determined that a "right" and a "left" exists over here are every bit as demented and dangerous. The last thing we need are polarised sides to politics, whereby lunatics feel protected by their side, and fundamentalists become so entrenched they cannot make their own minds up. These sides don't currently exist. Stop making them up. Let's not be America. It was a fun idea and had potentials. But it doesn't work. We'd be better off under the English monarchy and class system.

The comparisons with the Roman Empire are interesting and have been made more and more. As an entity the USA is significantly larger than the Roman Empire ever was.

It is not inconceivable that the states themselves will start breaking away. The likes of Alaska and Texas are as big as France and Germany combined so certainly have the geographical size to be independent. It's not going to happen over night but it could well start happening if the sense is that they are stronger alone than combined. Some of the richer states may feel they have been propping up 'poorer' states for too long through federalism.

Historically Republicans wanted more autonomy for the states with less overreach from the Federal Government, but are cheering from the rafters when Trump sends in the national guard to the likes of Memphis, Washington DC and maybe Chicago.

Trump is just a disruptor oblivious of the long term consequences of his actions. He just doesn't care.

Seems like MAGA is going on full denial mode that the shooter was one of them. Jimmy Kimmel has been canceled for saying he was one of them. Here's what he said:

"The MAGA Gang (is) desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it," Kimmel said. "In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving."

Nothing inaccurate there, but his show has been pulled just for speaking the truth. They've threatened to pull ABC's license over it.

Oh and today I had a little call from HR to warn me that someone is watching me on Twitter. They reviewed my comments on Twitter and found that I'm not in violation of any policies and didn't say anything inappropriate, so I'm not in trouble.

But here we are. This is Orwellian stuff.

2hrs 45 mins where 100 of Trump's comments/statements/rants were proven ti be factually incorrect. Fascinating stuff. He just makes stuff up consistently.

Unless your online accounts can be directly linked to your work then legally there should be no action taken for what you put on your social media accounts,  unless it is illegal.
