Nothing will change in America.

Gun crime and murder is tolerated when it's the ordinary Joe Bloggs that is impacted, but when it's a CEO of a company or someone from a political background then it means more.

Thoughts and prayers.

Looks like a sniper.

Here come the conspiracy theories.

Never heard of him, but my algorithms would not have brought him to my attention! In fairness I wouldn't be a big news reader or watch Fox. As of Aug 31 this year, there has been 302 deaths due to guns, America hasn't a problem with guns, its just bad people with guns
None of us are getting out of here alive, so please stop treating yourself like an after thought.

The New York Times has a map showing where the sniper was located compared to where Kirk was. It was a professional job. I don't think anyone has been taken in so the FBI are still searching.

Where does that figure come from MR2 in 2023 alone there were 17,927 gun murders/ homicides?

System is broken and beyond repair. As the divide in America grows, the money continues to rise to the top at a serious rate of knots. As more and more working folk are squeezed and stress rises, guns are just too easy to grab a hold of....scary to think where society will be in 10 years time

If guns were are readily available in England atm, would be like the wild west too
100%, seeing it in England and to a lesser extent here, the man with millions telling the ordinary man who's struggling to focus your anger on the black/transgender/foreign etc etc person, while the rich get richer off the back of it all..

430 feet is someone who knows what they're doing with a rifle. Not necessarily a sniper. Countless non-military or non professional Americans have the weapons and capability to make that shot

Was it not from 200+ yards? Not sure how difficult a shot that is for someone with the right weapon/experience.

"FBI director Kash Patel briefly claimed in a post on X he subsequently deleted that the "subject for the horrific shooting . . . is now in custody".

He is a Trump stooge. Doesn't have the smarts.

s of the current date in 2025, the most reliable statistics available are from August 31, 2025, showing 302 deaths and 1,354 injuries from mass shootings alone. For a broader scope of gun deaths, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) usually publishes annual data, but the full 2025 data would not yet be available, with the most recent available data being for previous years.
What the data shows for 2025:
Mass Shootings (as of August 31, 2025):
Wikipedia reports 302 people killed and 1,354 wounded in 309 incidents defined as mass shootings (four or more victims).
Gun Violence Archive (as of early September 2025):
The Gun Violence Archive provides daily updates on incidents, with recent entries showing a small number of deaths from specific events.
Where to find updated figures when available:
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):
The CDC's National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) is the official source for comprehensive data on mortality and morbidity, including firearm deaths, but their full yearly statistics are typically released with a significant lag time.
Gun Violence Archive:
For ongoing, real-time information on daily gun violence incidents, including deaths, injuries, and the type of incident, the Gun Violence Archive is a valuable resource, though it does not provide a single annual total.

There is roughly 45,000 gun deaths per year in the US, on average.

I think it's 302 mass shooting incidents, not deaths.
