They're not banning puberty blockers - they're banning the sale of them to under 18s. (That's not a statement of any opinion but it's wrong to say that they're denying the entire trans community puberty blockers...)

Exactly, like a lot of things are banned for under 18s. I really don't see the issue here.

The issue is puberty blockers are to pause unwanted physical developments in transgender children. So banning them for trans children under 18 is effectively banning them. Can't believe I have to explain that, lads.

Because they aren't old enough to make that decision... Same with Voting, drinking, tattoos etc.

There's a story posted about someone who regretted there decision.. Why would you let a child make a decision they aren't suitably old enough to make when they might change their mind and have harmed there physical development

Because many trans children suffer severe anguish and trauma, suicidal thoughts, from unwanted physical developments, and puberty blockers (which are reversible) press pause on that for their well being. So why should the likes of SF and DUP deny them that care that is available in 26 counties. 

That's just untrue.. NHS changed their stance on Puberty blockers being reversible years ago.

The reality is that with social media, you'll always have someone who'll argue with you. Doesn't matter if you say the sun is yellow. Someone will argue the opposite. And that's across the board left, right centre. If you're going to be on SM you have to accept that and either ignore or engage and fight your corner. If you can't do that, not sure SM is best place for ya. You'll always end up wound up.
I actually enjoyed his posts. Didn't see the posts that were the cause of this, but I'd say he'll suffer a fair drop in income if he stays off.

never heard of this Noone fella until yesterday but what he said was moderate enough and quite accurate.

He repeated the racist trope that quality of living is linked to migration which anyone with a quarter of a braincell left understands is absolute horsesh!t.

As is his claim that quality of life is declining. Just about every study in recent years on the topic has found quality of life has been rising.

He also said, in a video freely posted on social media to his thousands of followers, that the government stops people talking about immigration.

He also claimed that our towns are becoming less safe, and that this was at least in part as a result of immigration. Even though recent years has seen a decline in homicides (and related offences), in thefts and in drug offences.

His video just contained a succession of unsubstantiated and/or plainly innacurate claims and the fact that so many people, even numerous SF TDs and supporters who youd expect to be calling out the spreading of right wing falsehoods, are racing to defend him, is a sad indication of the direction of travel society is heading in. As is the fact that such plain falsehoods - first peddled by the far right - are repeated often enough online, they will eventually start to be repeated by more mainstream folk like Noone, and before you know it, twitter/gaaboard etc are filled with people blindly and stupidly accepting his/their anti-immigration falsehoods as "moderate enough and quite accurate".

As has been shown, nice or not, his comments were open to challenge as has been done. Just because you put your opinion across nicely doesn't mean people need to accept it or can't challenge it. I don't mind him and find him one of the better "influencers" but can't see any issues with the challenges put forward in the very detailed X post quoted earlier.
