Probably but they'll be facing a tough team regardless of who wins. Pretty healthy going into it so hopeful for an Eagles win.

They should have stayed redskins

Quote from: OakLeaf on January 26, 2025, 11:26:43 PMI went to my first Eagles game in 1987 so through quite a few near misses over the years. I'm not too bothered who we play in the Superbowl as either will be tough. Play like we did today and it should be a win. Dickerson looks OK, which is great. Hopeful.

Getting the monkey off the back by winning that first one was a huge step. I'd love to win it obviously but I used to just think we were destined to never win it. There's not the same pressure now on the franchise although I don't think there's many survivors from that team now.

Just Lane Johnston and Brandon Graham (who's out for the year anyway). Kelce almost hung in there. You're right, the pressure isn't the same now but another one would be nice all the same.

Pity about Brandon Graham. He has his Super Bowl moment in Eagles history anyway though with that strip sack on Brady.  Probably won that game as it was basically an offensive shootout.

Thought Bills were hard done by last night with some of the calls against them. How could that interception be ruled a catch when the ball hit the ground? Also I thought Allen made it for the 4th and 1 call.

Agree on both counts. The Chiefs seem to be reffed to a different set of rules.

What does it matter that the ball hit the ground? It didn't move.

It's Mahomes and the Chiefs in the playoffs. Of course the Eagles aren't the favourites.

Wildweasel74

They are, after clocking 55pts

gallsman

No, they're not. Chiefs currently laying 1.5 pts.

I'm an Eagles supporter and would say we're underdogs. Of the 4 teams playing this weekend, Washington were comfortably the worst of them.

The Chiefs are in the conversation to be the best team ever to play the game. On any given Sunday, any team can win but the Chiefs will be favoured to win it.

Neither of them had control of it!

Still a bit miffed at how things unravelled for Buffalo and Allen.

It would be very easy to get paranoid regarding officiating of the Chiefs. When every coin toss goes one way it's hard to believe there's an element of chance involved.

It struck me last night that Tony Romo has been pointing out for 2 years that Allen's tush push always goes left, and it was KC, inevitably, who finally listened. But he's also been pointing out the odd refereeing calls for KC all season, and this doesn't seem to influence their behaviour.

Oddly for Buffalo, who've shown great variety in every other aspect of their attacking play this season, they weren't willing to leave the Tush behind when it was clear that KC had it mastered.

Re the final, it's the one game I really didn't want to see. The Eagles to be fair to them showed more variety and skill yesterday (and a lot less emphasis on the clock) than they have all season, and I guess they've likely been holding back on revealing their hand.

KC are the opposite. They don't really have a hand in reserve. They win one score games on repeat because they've got a handful of set plays that are almost impossible to stop because they're so well coached and so good at executing them. Like a knife through the heart of opponents who overthink things on 3rd downs in the final quarter.

Eagles should win the final imho. They're a more formidable and powerful outfit and if they pull ahead early, it'll put too much pressure on Mahomes to move the ball quickly, and if Eagles are brave enough to resist clock managing, and keep the foot down it could be a blowout. KC won't feel pressure if it's tight, and don't have to worry about the rules so much, so they have to be bludgeoned if the chance arises.

Both on them did, hence the controversy.
