We need worry more about our front 6 or lack of it.

Derry Optimist

Yes Wildweasel74. It would appear that  last year's front 6 of Ethan Doherty,Ciaran McFaul,Paul Cassidy,Niall Loughlin,Shane McGuigan and Lachlan Murray are still the most likely contenders for starting berths. Perhaps Niall Toner,Cormac Murphy, Declan Cassidy, Niall O'Donnell, Matthew Downey and a fast improving Rory McGill will be stronger challengers for starting positions this year

Paudi was struggling to hold his position before he was injured, I think fully fit back 6 he wouldn't have made it last year. With Mc Kaigue now gone he should get back in. His speed over 15/20m needs to improve, would love to see CD get run in Midfield with Rogers dropping into centre half back. Expecting Mc Evoy to go to Full back

I'm trying to work out which of these two posts is the most ridiculous... It's tough! 😀

Happy NY Derry men. Confident we'll be back in the mix next year starting with a good NFL

Happy New Year let's hope Derry win their first and last match of 2025. *(Not a last group match game)

Exactly, both men carrying injuries start of last season if I remember right then Paudie obviously got the season ending one. The year before that half back line was Derrys best area, those 2 along with McKinless, solid defensively and our best attacking outlet with Clucky backing them up

Agreed, both absolutely ridiculous comments. Paudi was playing injured for most the year!

Did we play Galway in a friendly two days ago? That's story anyway.

Well done Ballinderry.

Not bad for a wee team from South Derry

Brendan

Crazy when you consider they shouldn't even have won the Derry title

The drawn game went into extra time and they couldn't be separated

And then they won the reply with a man down?

Was there a controversial free right at the end in their favour, can't remember for sure

There was, but, if you highlight that, then there was a certain foul just before it that wasn't given. Would Ballinderry have manufactured a winner from the 45m line, who knows? Vale were excellent in the first game, just didn't get over the line, a real pity for them and would have really crowned off what has been a great year for them.

Congrats to Ballinderry

Wasn't there a Ballinderry lad taken out as he kicked the ball in?

Ah here, no skin in the game, was just responding to earlier poster. Vale weren't happy from memory, that doesn't mean it was valid

Yous Loughshore boys are tight hi 😋
