"I have no doubt Trump plans revenge on many people," says George Conway, a never-Trump Republican who Trump considered as his solicitor-general in 2017. "But we also know that he is impulsive, easily distracted and incompetent.

True

But he is surrounded by some very capable and smart people this go around. Hopefully he will listen to their advice

Same was said before his 1st term. Surrounded himself with "the best in class" Trump doesn't do much listening he'll do what he believes is best for himself and the ones he'll select now will be lucky to see out the four years.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Democracy is completely broken and when the house of cards fall I worry what the 'saviours' will be offering us.

In his 20s, he worked at the US military detention centre at Guantánamo Bay, and then in Iraq, in both cases as a member of the Minnesota National Guard. In his early 30s, he was deployed to Afghanistan. And from his late 30s until this week, he became a dominant voice and then a co-host on Fox News, the television channel Trump watches most. At some point, he had the word Jesus, spelled in biblical Hebrew, tattooed on his forearm. Other tattoos include the Jerusalem Cross, an image closely tied to the Crusades, on his chest, a US flag with an M16 rifle replacing the bottom stripes, and the words "We The People", among others.

An initial hurdle will be his "very limited military background and no experience of government", warned General Lord Richard Dannatt, a former head of the British army. "The US Joint Chiefs of Staff will have their work cut out to argue their case to continue to support Ukraine and Nato, but I think we can assume that Hegseth will do Trump's bidding with loyalty," Dannatt added. Others were less circumspect. "A total clown show," said John Foreman, former UK defence attaché in Moscow

DOGE appointment potentially very controversial too, sounds like a quango out of a commie block country. I think if they start cutting government employee positions and salaries it will be very damaging to them long term and mana from heaven for the Dems. Chasing low hanging fruit and money already circulating in the local economy will only work short term.

If they are really interested in bang for buck for tax payers money maybe chase mega rich tax avoiders who move billions out of the reach of tax jurisdictions. Or stop funding the bombing of innocent women and children in Gaza and beyond. America not ready yet for change like that though.

But it will be very interesting viewing if nothing else. A man like Trump, well, the saying not having two bulls in the one field spring to mind. Cannot see any of these bromances surviving any sort of pressure. Huge fallouts, blame and recriminations down the line within the administration would be where the smart money should go.

Musk and the rest of the billionaires that now think Trump owes them something might want to take a look at his track record of paying off his debts.

He's not so generous with his own money. Now that he has his hands on the public purse strings, on the other hand...

You have got to be absolutely f**king kidding me. Matt Gaetz as Attorney General.

That is one of the most disgraceful appointments I could think of. Jesus Wept. Like putting Epstein in charge of a day school.
