Coalisland won't get it as easy as they think next year in intermediate...

Pic of the face of a Coalisland player Cormac O'Hagan doing the rounds. Did that happen in the game today? Looks absolutely awful and hope it was accidental if it did.

Didnt see it. Went to the game and I cant mind any serious incidents. Thought number 11 for clonoe was very lucky, got away with a large number of fouls and late hits

In hindsight it doesn't look like the Fianna ever properly recovered from the 2021 County Final mauling by Dromore. Since then only one championship win which was over a relegated Greencastle side.
Their youth in recent times haven't been playing in Grade 1 which would be a worry for them. In fact their U-16 team were in Grade 3 last season and ended up third best in that campaign.

Seen a few from Drumquin in O'Rahilly Park today.

Good enough for them, it was coming for a few years. It'll take them down a few pegs if nothing else.

What's the reasoning for this? You'd imagine Coalisland have a huge pick and wouldn't need to be in grade 3 at any level.
I believe Carrickmotlrw have over 400 kids in their primary school, you'd imagine Coalisland would have something similar?

Coalisland may aswell of stayed at home tiarnan Quinn running around with a knee bandage doing solo dummies, was he injured or not ? 20 wides, deserve to be division 2. Fair play to clonoe dogged performance, not out of the woods yet, interesting few weeks.

What's the general feeling about yesterday's result in Coalisland? Maybe do no harm to go down and rebuild with a young team then come back up refreshed?

I think it needs to begin with a serious conversation at committee level about giving management teams more than 8 months to build something. When was the last time someone lasted a year in Coalisland?

I would say this about a lot of clubs but they would be much better giving the job to internal men and throwing every single penny, resource and even the kitchen sink at their juvenile football for the next 10 years.

Regardless, they will blow Div 2 football apart next year.

Is there much coming through in Coalisland? Correct me if I'm wrong but think McHugh would be the the last one on a Tyrone U20 panel and I don't think there was any minors in the Tyrone team in the last 2 or 3 years either. Obviously that doesn't mean that players haven't developed and are capable of playing at intermediate level but I can't think of any quality players around that age for Coalisland
