Trillick very impressive. Huge favourites for the final no matter who wins on Sunday.

Doesn't say much for donaghmore, loughmacrory and that quarter of the draw. Dungannon very poor.

Can't see anyone but Trillick. Their ability to stop the oppositions forward line from playing is incredible. Did the same last year against Dungannon and Errigal. Thought they used to be serious for dropping men behind the ball but they looked to have changed it up and are going more man to man

And then they have enough scores in the team between Garrity, Brennan, the Grays, the Donnellys and Daly all chipping in. A serious outfit.

Great read in the Irish News today with Jody Gormley. Didn't realise he'd suffered a stroke last year. Sounds like he was lucky enough that it wasn't worse.

Think he had the stroke in the last few months according to the story in Irish news. Some recovery in 2/3 months to be fair to him

Quote from: Rebel84 on October 04, 2024, 08:21:42 PMTrillick 5th point came from a ghost 45. Niall Bell must have no cards with him either, Trillick very cynical.

Thought Bell was a disaster as were his help on the line and at the posts. One time in the first half, one umpire didn't know what to signal them at the opposite end one gave a 45 which nobody in the ground seen.

In saying that, Bell was consistently poor. Lee Brennan had a few harsh calls against him in the first half I felt but overall he certainly didn't impact upon the final result

Very surprised to see loads of Clarkes supporters leaving early - poor form that

Think you're right. Picked that up wrong in the article.

Don't think that is overly accurate. Donaghy clearly injured and McNulty must also have been. Any team losing their best forward and midfielder would struggle. They're not as bad as they performed last night and are still in your top 3 in the County, but last night they were second best to Trillick nearly everywhere over the field last night.
The nature and manner of Trillicks win is what draws the attention here. Fantastic performance. They're a seriously well drilled outfit. They exert a massive control over a game and play it on their terms. Garrity was excellent last night, Lee Brennan usual high quality free taking, range of scorers all round the field with the Greys, Daly, Richie, ODonnell all fit to contribute scores and you've Mattie in linking everything together. Garrity and Richie's points under the stand last night just put the exclamation mark on that win and put out the message that it is going to take a serious outfit to beat Trillick this year. And all that and nearly forgot Rory Brennan who was excellent yet again with turnovers and driving them up the field.

Nothing surprising there at all. Sure they only come out of the pubs a few times a year when there is a sniff of success. Had to listen to them all this week about winning the championship but thankfully Trillick quietened them down a fair bit last night. An absolule hammering

Is the final next weekend or the following weekend?

That was a seriously hard game to watch - shocking stuff. Not sure where Meenan got another minute at the end of injury time. Square ball too. Moy robbed.

Clear as day, very very poor from the officials.
