(not the exact quote, but thereabouts)

The constitutional and civil rights attorney Andrew Seidel, replied to video of Trump's comments circulating on X by writing:

"This is not subtle Christian nationalism. He's talking about ending our democracy and installing a Christian nation."

Play the game and play it fairly
Play the game like Dermot Earley.

If the Republicans have JD Vance-I present to you Elizabeth Warren

This could cost Harris the election

If Harris echoes that, then yes, she'll have a big problem. They haven't even been able to get the Dreamers over the line. I expect she'll stay well away from the citizenship stuff. She's vulnerable enough as things stand on the border without scoring an own goal like that.

(Believe it or not) I'm already so fed up of Trump I might vote for Kamala

If you listen to the entire clip he was addressing people who don't vote

He was imploring them to vote this one time and then once he is re elected he's going to fix everything to the extent that they'll never need to vote again (obviously paraphrasing)

I hope that's a common sentiment, but I still think she'll be up against it. Excluding unforeseen developments, August will tell the tale.

But welcome to the team if you go through with it!

Look-Up!

A lot of talk from some quarters about America not ready for a female president, but Hilary won the popular vote even though she wasn't very likeable to a lot of voters and basically called out a third of the electorate before a vote was cast with her deplorable nonsense.

If Harris doesn't act the clown and comes across as semi competent, doesn't score any own goals on the sensitive topics, I think she'll run it very close or get in. Trump did himself a lot of damage with a lot of middle grounders after the Capitol nonsense.

Harris ran in the Democratic Primary in 2020 and veered to the extreme left

At that time she was for: defunding the police, giving free healthcare to "undocumented" migrants, abolishing private health insurance, abolishing ICE etc

She was tagged as being the most liberal Senator in the US Senate-even to the left of Bernie Sanders (who's a Socialist)

She's a complete clown, but Trump and Vance are even bigger clowns

If that's the case she'll need to tone it down a bit but she was a pretty hard line prosecutor by all accounts and I'm sure she's cute enough to go with whatever way the wind is blowing at the time. Biden was a racist when he needed to be, then was her best friend when it suited her.

She doesn't come across that bad in the above clip, maybe reign in the laugh a bit, but at least it seems genuine and not mocking voters.

Think what's happening in Gaza will influence some votes (how much is debatable) but I don't think the outcome of the election, whatever way it goes, will help Palestinians that much if at all. Harris will have to tow the line to a good extent no matter where her personal beliefs lie and Trump seems pretty keen on Netanyahu.

What's really worrying is the shite that people like Lindsey Graham have to say on the matter. Might sound like something from the mouth of an extremist nut job, but it reflects where America is at at the moment more or less, regardless of what side of the line finishes on top come November.

She can tone it down all she likes, but if the Republicans can stick her to some of these crazy (by the standards of swing voters) policies she's toast

She was the "Border Czar" when 10 million people crossed the border illegally. Now she wants to abolish ICE, give the undocumented free healthcare, and her buddy Elizabeth Warren wants to give them the vote.

Is that something can be done by executive order or does it have to go through the houses?

In what way are you fed up with him?

Don't really care either way in this one but personally I feel Trump may force a settlement to the Ukrainian war, one that's politically advantageous to both the Americans and Ukrainians.

The war is at an impasse and innocent Ukrainians are being killed and victimised for no particular purpose. With war-weariness setting in its much better for them to negotiate and end to the war and build themselves up again with stronger Western ties.

I fear the Democrats would pursue an Iraq/Afghanistan/Syria/Vietnam approach as they did previously. Where they're not prepared to support the countries enough for them to win but also refuse to compromise because of political expediency at home in America. Basically they're content to see millions of non-Americans suffer through desperate civil war just so they can pretend to American voters they're on the "right side of history". A policy not strictly restricted to the Democrats but just currently I doubt their commitment to affecting any sizeable change in the Ukrainian stalemate.
