Capt Pat

Labour got 34 percent of the vote, the conservatives goet 23 percent. It looks like reform won it for labour.

Has Gregory's curry yoghurt gone sour for him?

While I don't like the TUV being in it's hilarious that Paisley is not. Did nothing for anyone and it finally caught up on him. Poor election for Alliance and no great for the DUP either.

It would seem now that SF rule the roost in NI in terms of councils, Stormount and now MPs.

To an extent you could argue that the councillors and MLAs do a bit and you would see them in the local media.  But what have the MPs done / will do over the next 4 years? A lot of their MPs have been re-elected and I would say in the lead up to the election I had not come across them much in the past 4 years.  The likes of John Finucane has a bit of a profile and while obviously he is not over in Westminster he is not sitting in the house scratching what with a legal practice to run and all that. If you had asked me to name others I would struggle and indeed as they keep a low profile what do they actually do other than lift the big ££££ and claim every expense going?  Mind you I did see in the Ulster Herald a few weeks ago your woman in West Tyrone, cant remember her name, taking credit for Gortin Main Street getting resurfaced.....wonder what her objectives are for the next 4 years, fixing potholes in Plumbridge and Greencastle?

Fair play to Pat Cullen and her victory, a shame she will be sitting on the sidelines and not being allowed to do anything.  Not saying she could work miracles but it would have been good to see her in Parliament raising the issues of the NHS in NI at a national level.  People in England think the NHS is bad over there, here it is off the charts.

By the way great to see Ian Og getting the heave ho, there will not be to many holidays now.

Quote from: Brendan on July 05, 2024, 06:07:29 AMWe've seen unionist pacts in North Belfast, mid ulster and Fermanagh/ South Tyrone which have failed repeatedly, they're going to need pacts for Upper Bann and East Derry next time...
They already (sort of) have one in Upper Bann, TUV don't stand. Lockhart hoovers up their votes

Exactly my feelings too. Allister is a **** but he gets stuck in whereas Paisley has been living off his Da's name and filling his coffers.

And the people who voted for her knew the SF policy regarding westminister and were still happy to vote for her and the other 6 SF MP's.

Really ?
Based on what.
She has form in this regard
Wanted.  Forwards to take frees.
Not fussy.  Any sort of ability will be considered

Gregory shockingly not overly humble in his interview with GMU.

54 years a Paisley has been in that seat. Allister a disturbingly bitter man but t least he might make some effort unlike Paisley like you say.
