2011 Galway minors were very close to beating Dublin and reaching the All Ireland final, the 2012,13,14 Galway sides all lost out narrowly in Connacht if given a second chance they probably would have fared better in All Ireland series than this years team.

As for Sligo they will probably see reaching the Connacht final, quarter final and winning Connacht league as the first sign of progess for their county minor team and will be looking to build on that in that in the years ahead. Sligo schools have been up their with the best in Connacht no reason why they shouldn't aim for their first Connacht minor title since the 60s next year.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

Kerry are missing probably the best minor midfielder in the country in Mark O'Connor and one of their best players in Cormac Linnane and are still steaming ahead. Can't blame it all on injuries.

It's Galway's to lose next year. Very fine Galway team won last year's Ted Webb and another good one won this year's.

Having watched Glass a few times this year for the first time I was mighty impressed, if there is a better minor midfielder than him he's a good one.

To me the biggest surprise was Mayo being so far off the pace of Galway at home.

I believe one of our starting midfielders was injured before the game and the 2nd went off after 20 minutes. We may not have beaten Galway but it might have been closer if we had those two

Isn't it true that Claremorris, probably the best minor club team in Connacht,  had a dispute with the Mayo management team and withdrew their players from the Minor panel during the year, hence the poor showing/

That couldn't account for the almighty hammering we got. We were so thoroughly hammered all over the field that I was near certain we were looking a special Galway team. Then they drew with Sligo and get beaten by Tipp. The only consolation is the old saying "you can never tell with minors".

To be fair to our lads their stand out midfielder pulled out injured just before the game yesterday and the lad who was their best forward during the course of the Connacht championship went off injured early. May have lost anyway but those were two big body blows one after another.

He did say "probably" and that is certainly the case. Mark O'Connor was midfield also last year and was outstanding. Conor Glass must be some player, who does he play for, I need to take a look at this young lad?

Conor Glass - 17 years old - Watty Grahams, Glen

Achievements that I'd be aware of:

COUNTY
Ulster Minor Championship x 1

CLUB
Ulster Minor Club Championship x 3
Derry Minor Championship x 2
Derry U16 Championship x 2
Derry U14 Championship x 2
Derry Feile x 1

SCHOOL
Hogan Cup x 1
MacRory Cup x 2
Rannafast x 1
Dalton x 1

There may be more at school level. He has another year at St Pats Maghera this year and currently Hawthorn have him over back and forth for training prior to his expected moved to the AFL in 2016.

I am also under the assumption that Glass is away to the AFL very soon, wasn't he the youngest Irish recruit yet with teams after him when he was 15 and him going over to one at 16.

Yeah they (AFL clubs) watched him in the Hogan final when he was 4th year (15).

Do he not have 3 ulster minor club titles? Thought it was 3 in a row though may be mistaken..

[Edit] In fact 4??

Hopefully Mark O'Connor recovers from injury in time so we'll see them head to head.

Any danger he might miss the semi-final or the final?
Would be a serious blow to Derry's chances. [and also my chances of backing Derry to beat Kerry]
