All the best to Carra - absolute legend and definitely my favourite ever player in almost 20 years watching the reds!

Although not always in the team this season, we have seen recently what he gives to the team. Still got plenty to contribute between now and the end of the season.

Real pity that Liverpool couldn't secure that PL title that he so craved. Surely must go down as one of the greatest players never to win a Premier League medal.

Slight exaggeration there, Carra was a good player not a great player. Being part of the fabric of Liverpool was what made him a natural favourite. And being part of that fabric made him reciprocate his love of the club with the fans. Believe me there is a queue of great Liverpool players who did not win Premiership medals!

Although it was inevitable that this was going to happen and now is probably the right time to do it, it is still sad to read about this. Jamie has been a fantastic servant to Liverpool over the years and epitomises what you can achieve when you have pride in your jersey and a passion to win.

He's taken a difficult decision away from Brendan Rogers and left the opportunity for some of the younger lads like Kelly, wisdom and Coates to step up to the plate.

He is an absolute legend at the club and a good lad into the bargain.

Carra was a superb player, have seen a few things about lack of ability and desire for the shirt making up for it. His ability was in the timing of the tackle and the reading of a game, as well as leadership on and off the pitch. A true legend of the club and the game. I remember him starting out as a midfielder and would shudder anytime I saw his name on the team sheet. When he moved into defence and especially center half however he excelled and commanded his area and team like an army sergent. Him and Stevie have been at the heart of the team for over ten years and have had a lot of success during this time, despite no premier league title, they have won practically everything else there is for a club. Sad to see him go but timing is right and hopefully he gets a few more run outs before end of the season!

Only from recent generations, there were plentiful enough in times gone by, even Billy Liddell and Elisha Scott won a league medal:
Robbie Fowler
Sami Hyypia
Steven Gerard
Jamie Carragher
Michael Owen (borderline but had a serious record)

Thats the only 4 I'd think of and label great players when you consider the shite they played with and now consistent they where.

There are others who could be classed near the bracket but for varying reasons eg short stay, injuries, inconsistency, can't be classed as great players - Torres, Hamman, McAllister, McManamam, Reina, Redkanpp, Suarez, Alonso, etc etc All great players in their own right.

The big deal will be in serious trouble if they are the kits, as no-one will buy them and Warrior will go to the wall. Horrendous.

It's easy to be a mouth on the pitch. What made Carragher special was he never hid when the going was tough. He was always looking for the ball, always looking to drive the team forward. He scored some horrendous own goals in his time, but that's because he was always willing to put his boot in where there was a threat rather than leaving it to someone else to deal with. Life an Anfield is going to be a bit more dull without him.

I'd say Philip Degen still hears him in his sleep  ;D

He lost a bit the last few years - but he's rightfully up there in terms of club legends and one of the best defenders the Premier League has seen.

Wore his heart on his sleeve and the ultimate club man.

Was always good to see a fella with passion for his club, but its going a bit far to suggest he was one of the best premier league defenders ever.  A solid defender who wore his heart on his sleeve.

Not really - he was. Did you watch any games the man played in his prime? Top top class.

f**k, those two away ones are brutal!!

Home one not much better!

deiseach

The only way you can ever have nice kits (like the current one) is to have nasty ones so you can then trumpet the nice one as a 'back to basics' model. What's that? Stop changing the kit all the time? Don't be daft.

Hope those are not real. The white away one is one of the worst kits I've ever seen. The design at the bottom looks like a Christmas jumper.

Gabriel_Hurl

You know what - I don't mind them as long as the home one is good. 3rd kits are supposed to be a break from the norm
