whiskeysteve  -   sure even in your own chosen sport of Chess has there not been evidence of drug cheating in recent times

Creatine isn't banned anywhere I think, don't know why he mentioned it. Maybe because it's used a lot by baseball players for extra muscle...

It's a toss-up between Jordan or Woods for me

Onion Bag

Never watched Basketball so cant really say much about Jordan,

But whenever someone would ask the question the 1st people that jump to mind are Woods, Federar, Schumacher, oh sorry i nearly forgot Francie Bellew

Mine would be Jordan the man was unreal.  A  player who took rugby to another level was jonah Lomu in his day unstopable

Has to be Woods; has mastered and dominated completely perhaps the most difficult (individual) sport there is. Schumacher was extremely talented but usually had a superior car to most of his rivals - golfers equipment is mostly standard. Worthy of a mention is Ronnie O'Sullivan who is an astonishing natural talent and Phil Taylor in darts.

I'd always be biased towards practitioners of 'precision' sports and not so much to team sports players; one aspect of greatness is to control one's adrenaline and nerve when the pressure is great - much harder to do that in golf / snooker than in football / soccer etc.

What about someone like Deion Sanders, who scaled the heights in 2 different sports?

his holiness nb

Its impossible to judge a guy from one sport against another from a totally different sport.

My vote goes to Ric Flair  ;)
