No,I dont know much about Steroids or other performance enhancing drugs Minder.
i know he was accused of taking something called EPO by a French Newspaper.But it was never proven.

My comments about Peter Canavan are mainly in response to people discounting GAA players from their list for people like Steve Redgrave! I dont genuinely believe that he is the greatest sportsman ever!!!!

I would have to say Mohammad Ali as my own personal favourite sportsman of all time, great skill, unbelievable entertainer, amazing longevity in what is perhaps the toughest of all sports. The thing I loved most was in his early days he could predict the round of his victories - I remember reading a story from UK promoter Mickey Duff (i think it was!) Had asked Ali for something he could auction to raise money for a local childern's charity! Ali told him he would give him his gloves after his next fight - Its bugging me as i cant remember who he was fighting here - but Ali knocks the bloke out in round 4! In the changing rooms after the fight he takes his gloves off and gives his gloves to duff him - this was a great jesture by the man - made even more impressive when Duff looked inside the gloves. In his left glove cuff Ali had written "Ali wins" in the right glove "round 4". Apparantly tripled the value he  got at auction - Pure class!!
