Cant have Niblock at all. Not as a commentator or a podcast host

Yeah can see why people don't like him, I think he's a decent lad and enjoy his stuff but definitely wouldn't be for everyone.

I'd say he's a perfectly decent fella but he just seems to have a default setting of "Relentless" whether it's good or bad stuff.

I see he dumped the BBC GAA Social podcast live event( £1)  for a private deal in the Ulster Hall @ £30 a ticket....don't think it sold out!

Have heard  of more than one instance of putting the arm into clubs for MCing events, galas etc, in fairness to Sidebottom he does a lot of them gratis.

I don't mind him to a point but he tries to dig in for some controversy to try and get headlines. Particularly when it's very personal topics I'd rather he didn't do that.

Fair enough, have found some of the personal stuff thats came up a very good listen (don't want to use the word powerful). I'm sure that sort of thing is discussed beforehand and if  the people being interviewed didn't want to go into detail it wouldn't be spoken about

I'd have to listen back to it as I could be wrong here but I remember getting the vibe off Tommy Walsh from Kerry's episode that he wasn't overly dying about having to talk about losing twin boys. Niblock had been painting a picture that he had just discovered this news in the week prior by talking to someone who mentioned it. I doubt it very much

Yeah that was the one I felt that on. I generally don't mind him but possibly a bit of a marmite type character. It is really a journalism thing though - he is trying to fish for an angle so he can get a condensed clip to play to people and advertise.

Yeah got the feeling Walsh wasn't mad to talk about it (understandably so) Then again hes a big boy and could have told the lads to wise up and stick to football talk.

Why don't BBC 2 just use the RTE coverage for the hurling final, it's organic GAA - without the cringe factor and Marty was born for commentating on Munster and AI finals. Niblock just doesn't have the voice or the wherewithal. Let the BBC2 NI GAA team be regionally restricted.

She was awful. No insight into questions to ask or direction to take the conversation. Kept glancing at her notes. Where was Sarah Mulkairns for the BBC?

Hamilton is married tp that phillips lad who was in the crowd. Bbc love their semi celebs at the finals.

Aye - knew she was married to him. He's a clown. The celeb bit is utter cringe. All too forced and bit paddywhackery. Niall Quinn couldn't even be arsed being there for half time. Got his free ticket and fucked off....lol.

If they dropped that segment and got Sarah Mulkerrins back, the rest of the coverage is pretty decent.  I think Sarah is a very good presenter, but Hamilton was very obviously out of her element. Even made some remark about across the country, referring to the UK at one point (can't remember exactly what it was in reference to).

Hamilton wasn't brilliant, but that's like throwing any of us  in to host a cricket  or polo programme when  we've no clue about the sport.  Her general questions and comments about the occasion were ok , it was just the  tactics/formation and  lack of knowledge of players etc that was lacking

The celebs thing is awful. They've been doing that every  semi and final this last couple  of years.  They're trying too hard to play  it up  for the Brits , even niblock is sickening in  that regard. Just do it as you would for an Irish audience.  If  a few Brits happen to like it, great. If not, f**k em
