Okay, maybe not. Carry on.

a wee bit harsh i think, a very valuable  first team player at the minute squad player in the future.
I think jif he ahd a better first touch, he would be a really top class player, got a great work rate and decent finisher.

He always seems to play well for Holland, hes picked every time and scores brave and regular too!

Always looks the part with the Dutch alright, but then again he's been playing with far superior players technically in general at international level. Also plays more as a front man with his country.

I jest, the Diggler is a legend in my view and would be the sort of player every team needs.  He may not light the world up with his skill but he is vital to Liverpool and scores so many vital goals.  He has over 230 goals for club and country and that is something few players can boast.

Dirk is the type of player that every club should have. Completely selfless, works himself to a standstill for the cause but is also a big game player who scores important goals. Not the most skillfull player you'll ever see and sometimes the ball bounces off him but despite that he is actually a pretty good finisher when he gets a chance.

pretty good summation.
i think a few years ago when we had a stronger team, masch, alonso etc etc, it was a position where you may have been lookin to strengthen to move to the next level...even then you would have him as a squad player every day of the week...well there have been a few comings and goings since then, and there are a few other areas we would need to look at, before the dirkster comes under threat again

Good summary alright. Often wondered why he does seem to miscontrol a lot more than players that are of a similar calibre to him. Maybe it's the fact that he chases those lost causes, or maybe, to borrow a phrase from Tony Ward, that a lot of a the passes aren't very sympathatic, perhaps a little of both.

Seems like Pepe is going to stay now. Hopefully a sign that the owners are looking to bring in some quality during the Summer.

QuoteLiverpool are more confident than ever that Kenny Dalglish's revitalisation of the club will be enough to persuade Spanish international goalkeeper Pepe Reina to spurn interest from Manchester United and Arsenal to remain at Anfield this summer

Reina only signed a new, six-year contract at Liverpool 12 months ago but the chaos which has engulfed the club since then had left the former Villarreal player deeply disaffected with life on Merseyside.

The goalkeeper is thought to have been disappointed to see the club fail to strengthen heavily last summer – while Liverpool's ownership remained uncertain – and in January, under Fenway Sports Group, when the arrivals of Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez were tempered by the British record sale of Fernando Torres, Reina's close friend, to Chelsea.

Reina has done little to quell speculation that he desired a move. "What a player wants, logically, is to challenge for titles," he told Spanish radio station Onda Cero in February.

Senior figures at Liverpool had feared losing Reina this summer, but the player is now thought to be substantially closer to committing his future to the club after the remarkable turnaround in performances and morale under Dalglish.

The Spaniard – signed for £6 million in 2005 – has been impressed not only with the scale of FSG's ambition to provide him with the calibre of team-mates he desires, but with the training methods implemented by Dalglish.

That's good news and i read today that Dalglish was also bigging up Aquaman.  Now whether that is to push his price up or actually convince him he has a future at Anfield is unknown at this stage but I certainly would rather a fit Aquaman over Charlie Adam any day.

i agree 100%,i think adam had a good start to the season but like his team has fallen away badly, weather thats due to his head being turned by all the transfer talk i dont know but as far as i am concerned thats yap holloway can keep him.

Ye are the team to watch for next season. God only knows how ye'd be doing if Roy Hodgeson was sacked earlier on.

I read somewhere that if the season started in January or at least since Dalglish took over then Liverpool would be 2nd behind Manchester United. Amazing what Dalglish has done for them.

Chelsea and Everton have better records since January I think!

Dave

Ah maybe you are right so, thought I read it somewhere though.
