Really going to have to look at the streaming for club matches next year. Miles behind others like Tyrone and Armagh and Derry in terms of better coverage of all grades, and the coverage itself.

Jerome does great work Camera wise, but feel he shouldn't be let near a microphone.

Yeah Cargin would need to watch themselves next time out no doubt their management will have plans for whoever they get ,Aghahallon really poor this evening a team who just seemed to want the year over
St brigids to account for the hurlers tomorrow comfortably too
Creggan to cruise by 10 plus and I'm seeing a shock result in some quarters as I fancy st galls v the ports

It's hard to ignore how disappointing Jerome Quinn's live coverage of Antrim GAA has become. Too often the commentary feels rushed, lacking in real analysis or insight, and the professionalism simply isn't where it should be for our county.

Antrim GAA deserves better than surface-level play-by-play — players, clubs, and supporters deserve coverage that captures the intensity, tactics, and stories that make our games what they are.

Instead of settling for low-quality output, why not raise the standard? Proper preparation, sharper analysis, and a genuine commitment to showcasing all aspects of Antrim GAA would transform the coverage. If we're serious about growing our games and inspiring the next generation, the live stream should reflect the pride and quality of our county, not undermine it.

Good luck to all involved with the masters today.

Would ye whist

I have to apologise to TTM, it was clear he was right and I was disrespecting his Cargin by only predicting 15 points, it is clear it should have been a prediction for a much bigger margin

Accepted Saul. Sorry, I mean Would ye whist 😀

There'll be no upsets in this round, St Brigids, Creggan and Portglenone all comfortable.

Rossa were lucky to beat Glenravel.
St Brigids will have learned more from Dunloy than they did prior to last years win over them, which in itself was fairly comfortable.
St Galls, whilst they have a sprinkling of real quality I dont think they have what it takes to take out a serious contender.

Are you giving off about Jerome, Antrim or both?

Jerome's not good on the comms. Ok we can all agree on that but he's getting paid and I'm sure he's happy enough with that. The video quality is good but unless he's going to pay people to come in and do the commentary it'll always be subjective to what people want.

Jerome doesn't understand football enough from a coaching perspective to give sharper analysis but is analysis really what people want to hear about during a game?

There was once a famous football commentator who said "you call what you see"

Analysis is for after the game or maybe half time not during the game when really they should be trying to communicate what's going on to the audience not give opinions

It's partly both, Jerome is one of the best in the business at camera work etc but it sometimes feels like it's a chatting match he is looking half the time when he is on comms. Hurling is particularly frustrating when he is talking over Johnny and being devils advocate in a lot of cases, in particular when there are big calls.

I was more getting to the point that surely there are other people around the county that could do the same the way Tyrone have, where they can live stream most matches at all grades and I'd think if you where to pay a £100 package for all matches (excluding finals possibly) I'm sure a lot would pay that.

Think in terms of social media I think Saffron Gael are the best about in terms of social media coverage.

Food for thought

Quote from: Take the Mark on September 08, 2025, 08:37:01 AMThis weeks tenuous selections -

Junior

Pearses to beat Ardoyne
Eire Og to beat O'D's

IFC

Sarsfields to beat Lisburn just about
Moneyglass over Rasharkin, double figures
Glenavy to beat Comgalls
Davitts/Gort Draw

SFC

Cargin by 5 over Aghagallon
St Brigids beat Dunloy comfortably
Creggan over Rossa by at least 7
Portglenone the same over St Galls

SFC looks very hard to see any sort of upset in this round.

Comfortable 🤔

Cannon Fodder

Firstly Congratulations to the Cuchullains.

They are a quality team with some very multi talented players. Imagine what they'd be like if they only concentrated on the big ball.

Wee Barky

Dunloy the better footballing team over the hour. St brids very wasteful in front of the posts. Some very poor wides.
