Na Glinntí Glasa

I thought we made that game harder for ourself than we needed to in the second half.

Going for goals when points would have done the job.

Just have to pace it out for the hurling.

What a performance from Dunloy. Thoroughly deserved, I never in a million years seen that coming against the new big thing in Antrim.

Quote from: antrimman667 on September 13, 2025, 12:13:03 AMReally going to have to look at the streaming for club matches next year. Miles behind others like Tyrone and Armagh and Derry in terms of better coverage of all grades, and the coverage itself.

Jerome does great work Camera wise, but feel he shouldn't be let near a microphone.
;)

It's hard to ignore how disappointing Jerome Quinn's live coverage of Antrim GAA has become. Too often the commentary feels rushed, lacking in real analysis or insight, and the professionalism simply isn't where it should be for our county.

Antrim GAA deserves better than surface-level play-by-play — players, clubs, and supporters deserve coverage that captures the intensity, tactics, and stories that make our games what they are.

Instead of settling for low-quality output, why not raise the standard? Proper preparation, sharper analysis, and a genuine commitment to showcasing all aspects of Antrim GAA would transform the coverage. If we're serious about growing our games and inspiring the next generation, the live stream should reflect the pride and quality of our county, not undermine it.

Are you giving off about Jerome, Antrim or both?

Jerome's not good on the comms. Ok we can all agree on that but he's getting paid and I'm sure he's happy enough with that. The video quality is good but unless he's going to pay people to come in and do the commentary it'll always be subjective to what people want.

Jerome doesn't understand football enough from a coaching perspective to give sharper analysis but is analysis really what people want to hear about during a game?

There was once a famous football commentator who said "you call what you see"

Analysis is for after the game or maybe half time not during the game when really they should be trying to communicate what's going on to the audience not give opinions

It's partly both, Jerome is one of the best in the business at camera work etc but it sometimes feels like it's a chatting match he is looking half the time when he is on comms. Hurling is particularly frustrating when he is talking over Johnny and being devils advocate in a lot of cases, in particular when there are big calls.

I was more getting to the point that surely there are other people around the county that could do the same the way Tyrone have, where they can live stream most matches at all grades and I'd think if you where to pay a £100 package for all matches (excluding finals possibly) I'm sure a lot would pay that.

Think in terms of social media I think Saffron Gael are the best about in terms of social media coverage.

Food for thought

I've heard similar mentioned before and yes I think it's a good idea

I'll be asking our club to raise it at the AGM

Maybe dunloy start to get a bit of credit, up from intermediate got to the final, quaters and now semis. Not a one season wonder they actually have good footballers.

BigGreenField

A curates egg of a game. Dunloy broken field game excellent, very high energy as is their defence however you could see them running out of steam.

Back to the drawing board for Brigids, too cautious in attack. Ultimately can't hit that many wides and expect to progress.

Na Glinntí Glasa

What way does the draw work now for the semi finals?

Totally agree! He just has to be talking and asking stupid questions instead of just calling out what's happening. Just call what's happening instead of calling ppl nicknames and coming out with silly stuff. Watched the match today on mute it's that bad. Only have to look at Derry/Tyrone to how it is done.

Quote from: Take the Mark on September 13, 2025, 11:44:25 AMThere'll be no upsets in this round, St Brigids, Creggan and Portglenone all comfortable.

Rossa were lucky to beat Glenravel.
St Brigids will have learned more from Dunloy than they did prior to last years win over them, which in itself was fairly comfortable.
St Galls, whilst they have a sprinkling of real quality I dont think they have what it takes to take out a serious contender.

Between this and your comments against ppls obvious Cargan prediction you might be better staying quiet for a while.

You wonder how the figures compare likes of a Tyrone football final v Antrim. Tyrone id imagine are losing thousands due to the firesticks

There definitely won't be any upsets today. DEFINITELY NOT.

It worked for yesterday at least 😀

And on yesterday, it would seem that all is not great in BT9. My vantage point yesterday was close to their bench and around full time there were angry words exchanged between subs, selectors and management. And if rumours are to be believed it isnt the only debate in their camp.

They can't have their caviar and eat it I suppose.

Wee Barky

The failure to play the league semi has not went down well with all parties in BT9.

The league play offs will rightly be axed next season, but the decision to disrespect the competition (while 3 other teams were prepared to play) and go on a training weekend instead looks like a pivotal moment. Heaping pressure on yourself, need to back it up on the pitch otherwise you look very very foolish when you are dumped out. Hence their manager looking very very foolish leaving the pitch yesterday  ;D

It's just a pity they were only beat by 1pt. Bigger shower of gurns and ganches you'll never meet.
