Can we just give real 2 walkovers now? What's the point?

Madrid will beat Liverpool out the gate both games

Sidney

Tremendous resilience from the boys in the face of adversity. Brilliantly crafted winner. ;D

That's why we're going to be European Champions yet again come June. 8)

I would be keeping an eye out for a new keeper if I was Liverpool, Mignolet just doesent impress at all, all over the place for their goal.

Is Valdés not supposed to be signing?

Nerves of steel from Gerrard at the end but I don't think he should be playing that role against.teams where Liverpool dominate.possession. By dropping back every time to pick the ball up in the back four it slows the game down to much. It gives the opposition time to funnel everyone back and leaves us a man down in midfield. Now, if we had a ball playing Danish centre half who could carry the ball out.....

Poor again today overall with limited penetration up front. Full backs did well, and Moreno tackle just before the goal was immense. I don't think Mario can play up front on his own, he needs a partner.

But other than that, who cares. Back.winning matches at the top table!!

Collie Brolly

Some nerve?Lol he must take one a game now on average.
Deserved win but no doubt Liverpool are on the slide this season.
Had your big chance last year lads and I think you know it.

What price were MK Dons..?

Wins a win. Should never have been in a position to drop points after the first goal so late on. A lot of new faces in who haven't got going just yet and Coutinho struggling for form. You can't expect an exact replica of last season given the changes. Given time though I think they same style will develop over the coming months. Lovren a good buy. Mario had a lot still to do for the goal. Would like to see him contribute more.

I was most impressed with Moreno out of all the new buys so far.
Loves getting forward, put in a few decent crosses and had one fantastic tackle towards the end.
Llanna looked rusty and although balotelli took the goal well, liverpool looked like they missed sturridges threat running off the shoulder
I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look good either

5/1 But hey don't let me ruin the party. Solid performance from a title chasing team

Denn Forever

This made me smile.

Grant, 26, a former Royal Marine who lost his right leg in Afghanistan in 2009, explained the irony behind a tattoo on his leg – a Liver Bird with the words "You'll never walk alone". The surgeon who amputated Grant's leg had to rearrange some of the skin to create a stump. "He managed to cut off the word alone so the tattoo now reads You'll never walk."

Lucas looked diabolical

Sakho looked a liability also

I'm normally Mr. Pessimism, or as I see it, Mr Realism, but I like to think I don't do knee jerk reactions, so I'm a bit amused at some of the reactions. Liverpool brought in 7 players from last year, I think, and got rid of at least 2 which were in the first team a lot of weeks. We would be mad to think that sort of transformation would be seamless, and that they would pick up where they left off.

Yes, I am worried. I am worried that Markovic, Lallana, Coutinho and Sterling, or a combination thereof, won't provide enough creativity, but I'm willing to wait and see how they settle into a new team and get used to each other. Yes I'm worried that Ballotelli is going to have too much on his plate, and will fail to deliver, but I think he needs time to settle in too, and a goal last night is important. Yes I'm worried that Sturridge will remain injury prone, and won't have the same impact as last year.

I'm also worried that our back four will take a lot more time to gel properly, but again I'm willing to give them time.

In short, I think this season could be a very tricky one for LFC, and not just because they lost Suarez. A huge influx of new players is always a challenge, and we really need all of them to be productive quickly if we are to be challenging for titles. That's not happened, and probably won't happen for a while yet. So be it.

I still believe in what Rodgers is trying to do. I believe that long term the squad is better today than last season, and I think the foundations are there to push on. Sometimes though, you end up having a plateau before you have the work done to push on further, and this may be Liverpool's fate this season.

If that is the case, I hope we remain patient and as long as there are signs that the team is coming together, I'll be happy enough in the long term. This is a different challenge than just 'replacing' Suarez. This is a challenge of significantly altering your squad and your first XI. We've said we wanted first XI players, not just squad players. Well we've got them, so now we need to give them time to bed in before we can make any judgment. Unfortunately that sort of patience can be in short supply, so I just hope we can somehow scrape a few results together, and remain within touching distance of 4th come Christmas. I suspect LFC will finish the season well, and whether that's good enough for a 4th place finish or not will depend on how big a hole we are in.

Regardless, we've made our bed now in terms of bringing in all these players, it had to be done, and we have to live through the short term poor performances until it settles down.

YNWA.

I'm not sure how the season will go, but it could well be a long one. Will certainly take time for the new players to gel. Suarez is an absolutely massive loss. I'd say the belief he gave the players last year was huge, basically, Luis is playing so we're gonna win every match. They dont have that this year. Ballotelli? meh. The odd goal goal but the polar opposite of what Saurez brought to the table.
