I've been told score differences doesn't make a differences. Don't know why they keep them though. Play-offs.
I don't think scoring differance counts either. They are there probably mostly because the system generates the table based on results texted in. They make interesting reading at times though.
If scoring differance mattered, they'd be an almighty row if teams didn't field thus denying clubs a chance to rack up.
I am 99% sure it's play offs.
Quote from: clarshack on September 07, 2009, 10:15:58 AMas far as i know clars, in the event of teams finishing on the same point, the score difference comes into play.
Final Round in Divison 2:
we really need both rock and urney to lose at home but that is very unlikely.
Strabane Sigerson's v Augher St. Macartan's
Killyman St. Mary's v Greencastle St. Patrick's
Cookstown Fr.Rocks v Derrylaughan Kevin Barry's
Moortown St. Malachy's v Killeeshil St. Mary's
Pomeroy Plunketts v Gortin St. Patrick's
Rock St. Patrick's v Eskra Emmett's
Stewartstown Harps v Edendork St. Malachy's
Urney St. St. Colmcille's v Clann na Gael
if my predictions are right that would leave Stewartstown, Killeeshil, Eskra and Augher on 12 points each and in playoffs to avoid the playoffs.

If for instance the Dublin hurlers won an all-ireland (long shot) I doubt very much any stewards would be able to keep lads off the pitch.
Why do we always have to conform to other codes standards? Keith Duggan calls it right today- pitch invasion at the end is our kind of madness. Shouldn't have to apologise for it.
100% agree

Any day you get up and the family are all healthy is a damn happy day.
I think thats the main thing. Other things are important but at the end of the day your health is your wealth.
You 2 lads have hit the nail right on the head!

Ziggy rejects presentation relocation
03 September 2009
Ziggy has rejected the GAA's decision to relocate the presentation of All-Ireland trophies from the Hogan Stand to the centre of the Croke Park pitch.
Ziggy has appealed to supporters attending Sunday's All-Ireland hurling final to run onto the field at the end of the game. With director-general Paraic Duffy warning that someone could be "trampled to death", Ziggy wonders when that has happened before or come close to happening.
"Ziggy denounces the GAA's request in this regard and hopes the status quo with be back in place in 2010," a statement from Ziggy read.
"Ziggy would like to wish the Kilkenny and Tipperary squads the very best of luck and thank fans from both counties for their continued support of the players throughout the season."

I wonder why Eoin McCusker has yet to be drafted in. He looks like a quality player any time I've watched the big ridge. I seem to recall a poster hinting that there is an issue between himself and the beard, whether he snubbed the offer of a place in the squad I don't know. In saying that, said poster could've been Longballs........
He was one of the ten mentioned in this week's Gaelic Life Mr N, and I think the Dromore lads are hopeful he'll get a run out. Good player.
Quote from: clarshack on September 02, 2009, 09:36:19 AMto be honest i dont like them at all, and know very few players that do,Quote from: loughshore lad on September 02, 2009, 08:29:37 AM
What do posters think about these cup competitions?
they'd be taken seriously if there was an incentive to do well in them.
what if say the winners were guaranteed a place in the promotion playoffs or something like that?
Quote from: ziggysego on September 01, 2009, 09:21:54 PMyeah, i think hes correct ziggyQuote from: Rocky Mc Guigan on September 01, 2009, 05:36:19 PMQuote from: ziggysego on September 01, 2009, 02:50:57 PMIf Cookstown do the double and Greencastle finish 2nd then they will gain aotomatic promotion-play-offs will be for the next 4 in the leagueQuote from: rrhf on September 01, 2009, 01:59:20 PM
Ziggy if you had to call it now, will greencastle make it to division 1 next year?
Can't see them winning the league now, especially since Tyrone is out of the All-Ireland and Mulligan is back with Cookstown. Still, one slip up by Cookstown and we're back in the running.
If we get a good run in the Championship, we'll not be far away and I'd say we could take it.
As for Cookstown doing the double, teams finishing 2-5 go into a play-off for promotion (I think).
You sure about that?
Quote from: tyroneboi on September 01, 2009, 05:23:43 PMhow completely crap this deadline day was, grinds my gears, no one of note going anywhere!
Sky Sports News building up transfer deadline day. I think they actually make up transfer rumours just to fill the day. They just showed some reporter at Spurs saying that Matthew Upson might be signing for Spurs because he saw a car enter the training ground with the number plate MWU and he said the passenger bore a slight resemblence of Upson. I think he realised himself that as he was saying it that he was talking absolute bollocks.
Quote from: rrhf on September 01, 2009, 01:59:20 PMcouldnt see them winning the league now, so sh*t or bust in the championship, although would i be right in thinking if cookstown win the championship, greencastle could go up automatically in second?
