me thinks Danny wants more money to renovate the foresters in armagh. i heard the ulster council bought the place to extend their already large office. the job has become more urgent since armagh council did the whole town center up (i meant the hapless armagh ratepayers) and now the foresters is a real eyesore with greenery sticken out of every hole its been derelict for quiet some time. doing it up to fit in with the mock georgian style surrounding it will cost a packet. i stand to be corrected

i heard that the grattans are'nt too happy with the bucks on offer from the county board for the use of the field. it'd be a long time payin for a prunty pitch sooner they get out the better tight b's

i was thinking of football, have you any of these games recorded, and how often have you watched them truthfully. cant watch tyrone now they truly have started puke football dont think they ever played in a classic. down v derry '94 is a keeper...

how many times have you sat down to watch a game on tv and been bored and ended up putting a tape of a match that you've seen over and over. even a game not involving your own county. which begs the question have you seen anything in the league or last years championship that that could be called a classic or even close, a game you,d be annoyed about if someone recorded dancing on ice over? nothing springs to mind. maybe i,m getting old.. ??? ???

totally agree mackers. tyrones abrasive in your face style has paid dividends but doesnt sit well with the cumley maidens dancing at the crossroads mindset that besets croke park. hartes gallant efforts to cover up his teams short comings by hinting at the ridiculous notion that cameras would turn up to healy pk and be turned away is laughable. the tv rights to the national league have already been sold all that would happen is that croke pk would move the game to a different venue and if tyrone didnt show they'd lose the points. harte should sit the team down instead of training and watch their games with a ref and point out where their going wrong. referees are not great people to get on the wrong side of they are human and no matter how good they are if they expect you to give trouble the slightest thing is gonna set them off and you WILL lose matches

the most sickening part of this whole thing is that harte is not worried what his players get up to when the refs back is turned he bemoaning the fact that they are gettin caught on camera. the point is that tv coverage has been something the gaa have been trying to attract why do you think rte get to sponsor the championship for buttons and toyota had to pay over a million... because toyota cant beam pictures into your sitting room. so it follows that the games that do make it to the tv should be of the highest quality ie free of cynical fowls and downright thuggery. i point to the defining example tyrone v dublin or the "battle of omagh" as it became known, the game was only on tnag but because there was a bit of handbags the bbc actually bought the footage from tnag and as we know showed it on every news bulleton for 3 days afterwards then we had the endless condemnation and paisley jnr lookn the police etc etc... if telly coverage makes mickey harte say to his players 'you have to behave or the ccccc will have you' and as a result we get better flowing, cleaner football thats attractive for the right reasons then more telly is needed. think of some of the games people want to remember down v derry (92 ithink) hardly a whistle for 70mins. no point in changing the rules to make the game more attractive when you've got boys rolling round the floor and mouthing off ??? to the ref

i get the feeling that not only is harte worried about tyrones slippage in performance/results but also that tv postmatch scrutiny of the amount of lets say his teams "darkside" eg the non-stop nipping, privates slapping, stamping etc that goes on could leave him with no team at all. armagh got the name of being a physical team ten years ago and now even though they are of average size and smaller they're still potrayed as huge. micky doust protest too much! and you reap what you sow. his yapping is liable to attract tv coverage/scrutiny not deflect it. producers are gonna say whats he got to hide lets have a look
