GAA Discussion / Re: DOWN v LONGFORD
March 15, 2008, 01:24:43 PM
Does Ross have to start with the team named in the papers or can he make changes before he hands in the team sheet? He may be playing games with Longford. Benny has been play bits of games since the start of the league. If he's not fit by now there's something badly wrong.

The Down web site is a joke.

Very disappointing for Down. I wasn't at it and I haven't read any reports. What's the story with Coulter and McComiskey? Are they fit or not? they must be fit if they keep coming on in the second half. It's a bad call not starting them if they are fit. Ross needs to think again.

I heard Mark Sidebottomon the wireless earlier saying Down were unchanged. Is that true? No Benny and no McCommisky? Hard to believe unless Benny isn't fit.

All Star Hurling at Lidl Prices
27 February 2008

Discount Supermarket Lidl, is launching a range of hurling equipment, inspired and approved by former GAA All Star and Cork Hurler, Brian Corcoran. Due to hit stores across Ireland on Monday, 3rd March, the fantastic range will contain everything the budding Hurler (and Camogie Player!) needs - from gloves and helmets to sliotars and hurleys.

The wide range of equipment, which is endorsed by the twice 'Hurler of the Year,' is qualified to all GAA recommended standards of safety, performance and durability. The equipment will be available to buy in all Lidl stores with prices starting from just Eu6.99 for a top-notch leather sliotar, Eu13.99 for a wide range of hurleys and Eu49.99 for hurling helmets.

Great for individual hurlers and clubs alike, the equipment is perfect for both amateur and professional players and is available in a wide range of sizes, which are suitable for both adults and children - showing that great quality equipment can be available to all, without a hefty price tag. But hurry, as stock is limited!

Commenting on his support for the Hurling range, Brian said: "I am proud to endorse Lidl's hurling equipment, which I highly recommend. It is suitable for all age groups and abilities. The range offers GAA clubs, parents and players the opportunity to purchase good quality products at affordable prices. The PRO-GUARD helmet aims to reduce the cost of protecting players without sacrificing their safety and the PRO-SLIOTAR leather match sliotar is made to a high standard with a price tag that is way under its competitors. The equipment is great for training on the pitch or road and is ideal for taking every day abuse. Lidl is providing the sport's loving public with excellent value for money."

For details of the full range of equipment available, please log onto Lidl's website at www.lidl.ie.

If it sounds too good to be true it probably is too good to be true!

He has a point and he's entitled to his opinion. The spokeman says non gays are allowed to join but you would have to ask how many would want to?

Down / Re: Down Club Hurling & Football

Looking at the remaining 5 league matches you would have to be confident of winning this Division. Wexford away looks the toughest. Fermanagh have 2 matches to fit in because of postponments and might have to play mid week to fit them in. That could be good for Down.

I think we really have to start Benny and McComiskey if they are fully fit.

It's taking a good bit longerr than expected alright.  Surely neither side can try to back out of binding arbitration? That would be madness. But then again this is Cork.

The round system is worse. People end up drinking more than they really want just because they are in a round.

These are are an old tradition that have fallen by the way side in recent years. I think there will be a come back when people realise than the modern world doesnt have all the answers.

My wife doesn't drink very often and unfortunately she had a little bit too much tonight. We were out for dinner.  She will sleep it off on the floor but I have to say too many of those unfortunate women have drink and drugs problems. That's why they 're in jail!

Jim Rodgers made a mistake. Get over it. I remember a poster on here (I think it ws Red Sky?) making a similar comment by mistake. He apologied and it was forgoten about. Give the man a break. He isn't that bright.

What do you have on DVD Amallon? If you were able to supply copies of the Down AI finals you could be a hero on this board! I know many posters would like copies.
