Reminiscent of the Dublin V Fermanagh game, only ever going to be one winner but referee with ridiculous penalty award costing me a bet with Kerry -4 :() keeping Tyrone in the game artificially. At last we are left with three real contenders

This makes me smile

You could be right and if it is the case I'd imagine you will be skipping down Draperstown Main Street.
Your constant attempts at being a mood hoover are failing.

Once again your much more successful neighbours are at a level and a stage of the championship you can only hear old people in Derry  talk about.

But keep it up, it's fantastic to read and the seeth is palpable.

By the way I will be supporting Derry minors also

If an anti Tyrone QC like Brolly thinks it's ridiculous and doesn't stack up, then I'd be inclined to take his word for it.
You giving Joe a promotion there?  He'll love that.

Club Tyrone "chat show" tomorrow night at 7pm at Garvaghey for any members on here.
Jarlath Burns just have the gaaboard a mention at our chat show night on at the minute, and said it/we are "tame"!!

It was very enjoyable. Good balanced discussion and very magnanimous of Jarleth at the end.

The Meyler incident is crazy. In my opinion he altered his run at the last minute as it looked like Kieran Hughes was going to continue with his run straight through Conor Meyler. It looked to me like Meyler was protecting himself.

Imagine this.....

Jack Mc Caffrey breaks out of the Dublin defence in the All Ireland final (a la Conor Meyler v Monaghan), Sean Cavanagh sprints across the field to tackle him (a la Kieran Hughes v Tyrone). Mc Caffrey pops off a handpass before colliding with Cavanagh (exactly as the incident involving Meyler and Hughes) and as the ref awards a free to Tyrone and a black card to Mc Caffrey the RTE cameras show a laughing Sean Cavanagh. JUST IMAGINE THE UPROAR!!!!

Why would Sean Cavanagh sprint across to tackle a lad who had laid the ball off about 5 seconds ago unless he was going looking for trouble?

The bitterness some people have against Tyrone really inhibits them from making any sort of logical sense.

Read it again Einstein!

He's backing Tyrone and providing a scenario if it happened elsewhere

Hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.

Just seen from GL that he had regained consciousness.

The Knee Jerk Principle I think.

What's being forgot here, is the identification of the journalists who were lifting the phone to Croke Park?

I'm not so sure I believe that to be honest.

Well the rest of the story has been 100% accurate. ( before the information became public knowledge)

Even Brolly is on twitter saying that the ban is completely wrong

Brolly reckons it's illegal

@JoeBrolly1993: @PhilipJordan7 my view is the use of the specific provision is illegal. The law of statutory interpretation applies to any rule 1/4

@JoeBrolly1993: @PhilipJordan7 the lawmaker ( Congress) has created a specific offence of simulation with a specific penalty ( yellow card). 2/4

@JoeBrolly1993: @PhilipJordan7 Tiernan's only offence, as a matter of law, is simulation, since the lawmaker is presumed to mean what he says 3/4

@JoeBrolly1993: @PhilipJordan7 if this were not so, then the disrepute provision could be used to override any offence, perverse though that would be 4/4

@JoeBrolly1993: @PhilipJordan7 so for example, a striking offence could be charged as disrepute 5/6

@JoeBrolly1993: @PhilipJordan7 the decision is therefore unlawful. It is a manipulation of the law to punish Tiernan more severely than the law allows 6/6

Thin ice Indiana. Will everyone who dives get suspended from now on? I hate diving, but the Sunday game deciding what's worth a ban or not is a flimsy way to run disciplinary proceedings. This will be overturned and will be a f**king mess.
I dunno they usually don't hand out suspensions these days if the DRA are just going to turn them over

Depends on the detail of referees report.

Simulation is yellow card, so must be more than that? Can't see it being upheld.

If true this opens potential floodgates with no tariff relating to the offence.

What McCann did in this game was disgraceful, he is not the first player to do something like this Shields was a joke this year as well, and I remember mcGuigan in an ulster final years  getting McCartan send of for having the ball thrown at him.

But at some point in time the GAA has to take a stand it can't keep letting this happen or else we go the way of soccer

I would not be surprised if they make an example of McCann and think it would be good if they started banned players for diving

What rule would they use to ban him?

Simulation to get player sent off , is a yellow card.  Everything else is hysteria.

Keep this thread here they will see it themselves.

One prominent arsehole scribe  who writes for one of the major papers had a load of what was posted here yesterday in his column today.
