Green grass has incurred a 14 day ban for his "joke", we've covered this already with the Jackson thread. Let us try and maintain some sense of decency.

Noted, should be back to normal soon.

GAA Discussion / Re: Tyrone v Kerry NFL Round 2
February 25, 2009, 07:42:56 PM
I've decided to close this thread as I feel it has run its course and am not to happy with the direction it is now taking.

A new thread on the appeal will be accepted, but it would be advisable to keep some restraint regarding some of the comments.

General discussion / unlady like behaviour thread
February 09, 2009, 05:55:56 PM
Just to let everyone know I pulled this thread as the details of individuals could be guessed if a person was in the know, also due to the graphic nature of some of the posts.

Further action may be incurred as a rest of some of the posts.

next poster to restart the above thread will be given a 4 week ban. It has been removed several times and if posters persist with that sort of gutter talk and want to go against the administration of the board they can do it else where.

I would prefer if posters refrained from posting pictures of any county board officers on the site, given the context of the thread.

Since this has already risen to a pretty high profile story in a matter of houses, I would like for posters to remember the rules on allegations made against players as stated in the stickies at the top of each forum page.

http://gaaboard.com/board/index.php?topic=8836.0

If anybody hints at who it is without proper evidence and isn't able to back it up, the matter will be taken in a very dim view by us mods.

I trust you guys can understand why this is, and credit to the lads who posted here already know the players identity and kept it to themselves until we know more.

Hardstation was initially given a warning for abusing a poster and his wife. Upon receiving the warning he chose to abuse me, I asked him to refrain from doing so or it would carry a ban, he continued so he received a ban (four strikes altogether). Subsequently he has continued to use the board under different accounts, forcing us to put a ban on his IP address as this was making the ban null.

I hope this clears up the matter.

1. Personal abuse.
Personal abuse is one of the most common problems on internet boards. Known sometimes as 'playing the man', whether foul language is used or not, this behaviour is
   not allowed.
e.g. Calling someone a fat fool is the same as calling someone something more vulgar. This rule applies even in situations where another user has breached this, or
another rule. Retaliation is still a breach of the rule.

Penalties- 1st Offence - Warning,  Second Offence - 2 Day Ban, Third Offence - 10 Day Ban, Fourth Offence - Permanent Ban

Stayousidethesquare and NonCharlatan have been banned for their "contribution" to our board. This thread will be under watch from us mods, so if there is any further play acting we will not be willing to tolerate it and further bans will be given. These bans will be permanent.

Lads, while debating about the incident in the games are encouraged, please refrain from bringing a players personal life into it. This will not be accepted, see the rules.

Thanks

In this day and age, many more people are becoming aware of the existance of boards such as this. While this is generally a good thing, it also means that the posts are more likely to be read by a casual visitor to the site. In these circumstances, the board must protect itself against allegations of libel, or defamation and so any posts which make derogatory remarks about a named, or clearly implied, individual, are a serious breach of the rules, and dangerous to the board itself. This particularly applies to individuals' private lives, finances, legal issues etc etc. This also applies to unwarranted abuse of GAA players and officials.

Penalties - 1st Offence - Warning, Second Offence  - 5 Day Ban, Third Offence - Permanent Ban

Could I draw the attention of everyone to rule two. There has been numerous posts on the board over the last number of days that have repeatedly broken this rule. While warnings are not made public they do happen, and the poster gets a private message about it. Over the past several months there have been rumblings in the media about private individuals wanting to take legal action against public forums like this one. Please use some common sense when posting and ask yourself would you want the remark posted about yourself.

Snowed Under and POG can you guys give it a rest, Snowed Under why do you go on about wanting to be banned yet you are still here posting? Am I missing something?

Given that this topic is subject to a possible legal case, we feel that this thread is better closed.
