QuoteIt's much easier for a good player to be a regular match-winner in England than it is in Spain or Italy.

Again, this is grass is always greener syndrome. The EPL is ridiculously overhyped, but the experiences in recent years of players like Andrei Schevchenko, Juan Sebastien Veron, Diego Forlan, Fredi Kanoute, Fernando Morientes, Marco Materazzi, Gaizka Mendieta, Giovanni Van Bronkhurst and Hernan Crespo should seriously dampen any suggestions that the Spanish or Italian leagues are stronger.

What about the argument that players may find it hard to settle in a different country, language barrier, climate etc. Remember Rush going to Juve, coming back and scoring goals again in England.Nobody said he was shit when he didnt do well in Italy. Look at the CL winners from England......It wont take long

Pure shite, but then some of those players will never be anything else.

Its the whole cliched "carpenter hopes to put nail in xxxxxxx's Fa Cup coffin", and when  there is an all premiership tie it is hyped as the tie of the round, yeah its great watching Reading reserves v Man Unites reserves.

Is it just me being a grumpy old man or is anyone else pissed off at the way BBC over-hype the FA Cup. I usually listen to 5 Live and every time I've had the fecking radio on the week it's been Magic of the cup this and magic of the cup that.

Last night they had a 4 hour programme where a load of has beens held a love in and all agreed the the FA cup is the greatest competition in the world and the players really rate it.  We all know the 3 premiership or championship points are more important to most managers and players. Who are they trying to kid? Is it just because it's the only live club soccer they get to show now?

Nail on head. I think it shows you the high esteem it is held when Man Utd didnt even enter it in 2000.

Seahawks - are 7 and 1 at home this season
I think the Jags as well - too much running

Giants - are 7 and 1 on the road this season
Chargers - just cos

Aye that probably is the toughest one to call, that record is padded by playing in a shit division though & they cant run the ball lately.

Selections for weekend in bold -

Washington Redskins at Seattle Seahawks - Redskins Redskins are playing their best football at the right time.
Jacksonville Jaguars at Pittsburgh Steelers -  Jaguars Doubt if Steelers can stop Taylor & Jones- Drew

New York Giants at Tampa Bay Buccanneers - Giants If Manning plays smart they should win.
Tennessee Titans at San Diego Chargers - Chargers Too many weapons, no offense for Titans.

Absolutely has to be one of Federer, Woods or Mayweather.  Federer would get my vote.

As regards Ali, I think Ring magazine which is always a good barometer in boxing consider Sugar Ray Robinson to be the greatest boxer of all time.
A lot of you are mentioning Mayweather, I can't really comment, which says it all really.  Until boxing sorts itself out and becomes a real sport again nobody really knows.  I mean Mayweather was 4/6 to beat Hatton last month, what price Federer to beat Henman or Woods to beat Barry Lane?
I imagine Federer has a much better percentage record than Woods, but then I don't think conditions and luck are as much of a factor in tennis as they invariably are in golf.
For me it's Woods, as someone else pointed out he's revolutionised the game and its following, Federer just serves to make tennis more boring?

Well he makes it boring if you have no appreciation for seeing a master at work and perhaps the greatest tennis player that has ever lived before your eyes.

Messi's rate of development is superior to the other two, considering his age.
