if you care to remember last years compromise rules match for example an international match over two weeks much like the cricket. the bbc never once mentioned that the games were even taking place despite the fact that there were 9 six county players on the panel. the first reference to the games was that graham geraty had been cited by the aussies for rough play on the thursday after the game in galway they did not give the score at any time. after the second game and the violence on the pitch the game was headline news on the radio at six in the morning i rang them to ask who won im still waiting for a reply they continued this topic until i personally informed them that i was reporting them to OFCOM pointing out that they were totally baised in their coverage then it was miraculsly dropped. make no mistake bogball they have an agenda. i have been keeping a record of their coverage noting positive reporting such as scores read out or pre-match reports versus negative stuff such as the battle of omagh, the aussie rules, players taking the gaa to court over discisions. i can tell you that the negative stuff is about 8.5 times more than the positive. if you dont believe me try texting them that you were at a match and the toilets were filthy and see how long it is until your contacted by someone withholding their number then try telling them that it was a great game and see which subject they want to talk about. what annoys six county gaels so much is that we are paying these guys wages to give us fair and equitable media coverage befitting the biggest spectater sport in their broadcasting area and they are not doing their job

just a word of warning about the beeb. ffs be careful i caught this outfit red handed digging for dirt on the gaa only two weeks ago. during the darren graham affair (prod fermanagh hurler i think thats his name) the talkback programme were giving the "its a disgrace blah blah" brigade about as much air time as they could. i sent them the following text to 81771 " my name is billy the boys i play with call me names but i just laugh it off" not 20seconds later i was contacted by a bbc researcher wanting to know what names i was called and all about my abuse. i told her i didnt want to bad mouth the gaa but she insisted i show go on air and talk about it. i then informed her that i was infact a gaa official and that i had caught her deliberatly digging up unsubstanciated dirt on the association and that i intended to make my discovery public and she hung up. i rang this information into the irish news off the fence but they didnt want to know. now they have went to town on ger cavlin for his actions that have nothing to do with the gaa in an investigation spanning 18mths. whilst i dont agree with his actions they are determained to ruin his football career which i find despicable especially when the footage they use of him they had to buy off rte. if you have nothing else to do try something like "my name is gintas im from latvia i tried to join the gaa but they wont let me play" or hi my name is trevor and the gaa wont let me or my boyfriend play hurling. you are gauranteed a response within seconds. if you want to tell the listners about how sucessful your underage blitz was or how youve just won a few games forget it. this crowd will stoop to any level to discredit us but the worst part is we have to pay them whether we like it or not its the law now that a real discrace!! PS IVE JUST BEEN INFORMED THAT THEY ARE NOWHERE IN THE RUNNING FOR ANY LIVE COVERAGE OR HIGHLIGHTS IN ANY OF THE TV CONTRACTS ABOUT TO BE AWARDED BY THE GAA. so basically they dont give a s--t what damage they do

i see where you think im coming from, but you have to wonder how a certain player and winner of a couple of mom awards was left on the bench as we crashed out of the championship. that aside it is well known that as result of a number of side deals that went wrong there is more than a little mistrust in the armagh camp atm. to many men trying to trying to milk the golden cow that a bit of sucess brings. personally i dont have any preferance who manages the armagh team as long as they are competitant and my club doesnt have to pay for it. e.g try rostrevor instead of la manga, use gerry moley instead of two chambers coaches wee things like that.

im calling this project the tri sport stadium because 1. it cant be a national stadium because northern ireland is not a nation 2.it cant be a provincial stadium because n.irl is not a province. i could go on but im sure you get it. anyway eddie poots had his meeting today to discuss the citing of the stadium and fair play to the GAA they put their cards on the table, its the maze or nowhere. soccer want the maze but rugger would prefer a belfast site. following these ascertions pootsies belfast colleagues in the dup stated that effectivly the GAA had "vetoed" the project by refusing to consider a belfast site. the way i see it neither of these two sports soccer or rugby can fill the proposed stadium so in effect they could both sell tickets for £4 and still make the same money as they do now ;. making the cost of attending a gaa match seen very expensive in compariousion (£12) if we are to go ahead with this project we are effectivly giving both of these lame ducks a serious leg up. as we are not hanging for this ground in fact we can do nicely without it i'd be inclined to let the hare sit. if the gov do decide to give them a cash hand out we would be intitled to the same. in the meantime rugby is going to crokepark and norn iron soccer is going down the pan or across the water as windsor pk crumbles down around its sectarain foundations. but there is a downside! watch how the media in particular the bbc shift the blame to us for the downfall of n.irl soccer. i note that despite the endless hours of phone-ins the beeb have never interviewed anyone from the ulster council to air our views!! WATCH THIS SPACE. :o

and they say nobody listens to the radio! joes short rte radio phone in interview was the final nail in his managerial coffin. the feeling was that he was going to gracefully having already said he was quitting last year the county board were just waiting on his cheerio. when he talked on national airwaves about staying on and young players coming through etc.. enough was enough he was told in no uncertain terms he was going.
following a series of fallouts that have nothing to do with football joes position was completely unworkable and frankly the county board are glad to see the back of him. you can bet your bottom dollar that a new fianicial structure for funding the county team will be in place following the appointment of the new management.
as for joes legacy i will remember him as being the manager without a plan B.
btw i retract my statement that nobody on the county board had the balls to put an end to this farce.

yes pat daly someone told me about this interview and i thought they were pulling my leg. i heard that mrs kernan was also briefly interviewed and she says joe will not be happy til ALL :o his sons are playing for armagh. it is now quite obvious the guy has lost the plot- mad as a march hare. infact far from managing the armagh squad he is now going to take us back to the early nineties. so get ready to get exited about league football again. wins over the likes of cavan in febuary will send the dwindling supporters into deleirium but one good thing will come out of this farce-- we'll get rid of the buckie brigade. but take this as fact not one club in armagh has a delegate at the county board with the swingers to stand up and say we think its time for a change even if his club wants him to. infact get ready for an even bigger bill for the county training fund next year as joe will certainly want to top up his tan before the championship

just a thought should all counties not enter a team into this competition there are plenty of lads in every county who'd love a chance to play in their county jersey. lads who are on the verge of the county squad. it seems to me that this would help develop more players, coaches and possibly managers and who knows it might throw a few refs through their experience in this competition. i think it could be a runner...

totally agree corn. joe knows if he hangs around for a bit things will get better. derrys trashing of mayo is just the trump card hes been looking for, and you are right the county board will give him what ever he wants and at this moment what he needs is TIME armagh clubs are very easily lead nobody wants to come across as not being in support of the county team. joe knows that there is no way stephen kernan would make the team if he wasnt around. also his high profile as county manager isnt doing his business any harm either. but as im on record as saying joes lack of confidence in the young players including the ones mentioned above cannot be hidden even his body language toward them isnt right. btw an example of easily lead-- no other county in ireland hits their clubs as hard for money as armagh. regardless of size of club its one bill for all and nobody objects because they are afraid of being singled out

actually joe brolly should take a bow because it was his prowess as a forward that forced armagh to develop the so called blanket defence (a fact that has been well established) basically armagh at in 99 didnt have a single forward capable of marking him. as far as im concerned joe k won one sam and lost two which is ok if you live in cross but not if you live in blackwatertown. he was a good motivator but his predessers can claim alot of the credit for his sucesses. personally im heartbroken that time has eroded a fantastic squad these lads were my team, my era and now i hope they go gracefully i couldnt stomoch them getting a hiding from the likes of kerry or dublin and then have to listen to spillane gloating that thats the end of puke football or we kicked their northern asses back up the north. one thing i have learned i will never ever not back a northern team (even tyrone) when they travell south. so it is fitting that it should end where it started in a game with derry. as for the young lads its gonna be very tough so far the u21s have only really brought arron k as a shoe in the rest havent really caught the eye. maybe in two or three years we could have a stab at an ulster title?? or a mckenna cup. one thing im fairly sure of enda mc nulty will be the only player of these bunch who'll make it as a future manager of armagh

Armagh / Re: Armagh Club football & hurling
June 29, 2007, 11:20:42 PM
just to let you know lads i was talking to a lad whos working on the athletic grounds and he told me its a f--king disaster apparently its supposed to be finished by feb 08 but he says it will be feb09. practically every job they do has to be redone because of vandalism and theft. eg ducting was laid for lighting with ropes to pull the wire through the next morning the ropes were gone the whole thing had to be dug up, sewer pipes filled with cement etc but the top of the list was when they sprayed some obsenity on the pitch with weedkiller which is only beginning to show up as the grass dies. the contractors cant leave any equipment unattended at all as it is being stolen even during the day. so what i hear you say! well the job is well over budget and behind schedual and guess who'll be asked to foot the bill (try saying "thats right" in the style of the unbelieveables) thats right THE CLUBS! you and me!. the begging bowl will be out in style shortly. why dont we accept defeat sell the kip and get a proper complex before this white elephant puts our lights out. ive heard a rumour that we have been offered over 5million stg from a large chain for the site this would go a long way towards buying and developing a two or three pitch complex with a gym etc and maybe even a carpark. emmmm.. carpark

the main reason why soccer is continuing to become more popular is because it is cheap to run most clubs pick up disaffected gaa players and fellas who dont like gettin roughed up usually townies they dont need underage structure, they dont have insurance, they can get plumbers to sponsor them (11 jerseys) or taximen. and slabbering to the ref and jumping on the wire is ok. our bill for armagh county board expenses, insurance, etc has arrived you could run five soccer clubs for the same cost. that why soccer is becoming more popular

GAA Discussion / Re: Rule 132

actually its up to your own county board to decide whether or not to enforce the rules as they are written, from a personal experience our club has played 16yr olds in senior games and i can say that the only serious injury took place when a player was taking part in a soccer match not related in any way to our club he hasnt kick a ball since and had no insurance

thankyou joe! why the change of heart i wonder ::) by the way FECKITT please try to improve your reading skills your post was miles off

the point i am making if you read my post properly is that we have been told that the county board are not taking back unsold tickets this is NOT normal proceedure and i think its to cover up the fact that armagh fans are not interested. also i think joes stance on the venue had little to do with armagh supporters getting to see the match but more to do with trying to get donegal out of their home venue to armaghs home venue. i think its time joe realised that the clubs in armagh have their own jobs to do and are not there to raise money for him or take a fiancial hit if he boobs as in this case he has. someone has said that tickets can be returned if that is correct  then we have been given the wrong info and will be in armagh to return 75% of the tickets we were given. if the ceannaras is not open then we are stuck with tickets no one wants
