Don't forget the current AI club champs The Castle. The first team from Tyrone to be all Ireland club champs ;D

how could i forget the castle's all-ireland! remember errigal, pomeroy (do brackaville count?), stewartstown & greencastle are the only clubs with ulster titles at adult level. we should be doing better!

BTW hoopsaaa are greencastle taking part in the all ireland junior sevens?

hope fianna win it now. thinking ahead to the ulster club champ and what team would you want representing tyrone against teams such as mayobrige, ballinderry and cross? the fianna would be the only team left that would cut it for me. if the other 3 teams won it they would just be happy to win tyrone but the fianna had a good run in ulster in 1989 - therefore the present bunch would want to prove themselves in ulster as well. i know it is a different level but when stewartstown won the tyrone junior in 2004 everyone was back flat out training the same week simply because we werent happy with just a tyrone title. every tyrone team should have this attitude when going into ulster at senior, intermediate and junior levels.

A chara,

You will have noted, in recent days, two serious incidents of cardiac failure involving elite soccer players. Tragically, Antonio Puerta of Spanish club Sevilla died after suffering a heart attack in a game on Sunday last while Irish player Clive Clarke is recovering after what has been reported as a cardiac arrest during an English League Cup game between Leicester City and Nottingham Forest. Both incidents highlight matters which our Medical, Scientific and Welfare Committee have drawn to your attention during this year. Media reports indicate that Antonio Puerta had suffered bouts of dizziness after previous games while the use of a defibrillator is reported as having been crucial in saving Clive Clarke's life. These incidents emphasize that

*         Players of all ages, club and inter-county, must be encouraged to complete the Cardiac Screening questionnaire on the GAA website http://www.gaa.ie/files/gaaforms/pre-participation_cardiac_screening_questionaire.pdf

*         All clubs must be strongly encouraged to purchase a defibrillator and train members in its use. I refer you to previous correspondence on this matter and remind you that defibrillators can be ordered through Croke Park at a total cost of 1,200 euro (including VAT) while VHI Healthcare will provide free initial training to four participants from each club who purchase a defibrillator through Croke Park. You can contact Stephen Brown at sbrown@admingaa.ie for full details.

I will greatly appreciate if you will highlight these matters with all your players, using every available means of communication. Many thanks.

i guess carmen were next best but they were beaten by UUJ in their group. conor gormley stood out for carmen. st galls did seem to be giving out a few hidings though. CJ mcgourty is some player - pity he isnt from tyrone. also charlie vernon (QUB & Armagh) is built like a tank and took one hell of a hit against St Galls. he was down for a few minutes but got up and played on. anyone of a lesser build would have been taken to hospital.

result from todays div 1b league: stewartstown 0-7 kildress 1-13. the harps kicked 10 wides in 2nd half so it could have been closer. we were always going to get it tight having taking part in castlewellan 7's the day before and also with another 4 key men missing as well. we got a trouncing in the reserves but at least we fielded in both games today. the easy option would have been to not field in protest at the GAC's ridiculous decision not to postpone todays games.

Why were Gareth Devlin and Peter Armour not playing for Stewartstown at the Castlewellan Sevens on Saturday?  You did well to reach the quarter-finals without them.

It is a joke that the County Board made you play that league game with Kildress.  After all, you were one of only four clubs representing Tyrone at Ulster's premier 7-a-side competition.

gareth devlin is suspended until mid october while armour had something else to go to on saturday. we were also missing good 7's players in cp devlin, owen coyle and eddie laverty as well. as for the GAC - have absolutely no time for any of them anymore.

it was disappointing to see dromintee go home in a huff though.

well i'm back, gonna give this board another go.

st gall's won the 7's beating castlwellan in the final by 6 points. st galls were the best team in the tournament by a country mile.
