I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of any possible outcomes in Irish league matches at this time of the year before the game?

I heard an outcome of a game on Saturday past from someone close to the Irish league club involved in the game and it came in. Both teams had nothing to play for as both are safe and neither are challenging at the top.

The same thing happened last year when I heard 3 results before kick off and all 3 came in. Bookies in the town that day stopped taking bets a few hours before kick off.

Could of course be coincidence but it might not. Anyone else have any experience of this?

The bookie in our town only accepts bets of trebles of more on IPL games, if that tells you anything!

But sure any of the online bookies will accept singles on them. Betfair is especially useful for it.

2 years ago when Glenavon were playing Armagh City....The Armagh manager had already agreed to take over Glenavon the next season. Glenavon needing a win to stay up....Hadn't won a match out of their last 10.....Glenavon won 4-0...

Glenavon were 3/1 at the start of saturday and it ended up that bookies stopped taking bets on them in Lurgan..
There is no I in team, but if you look close enough you can find ME

That's the one I was thinking of - didn't realise it was the year before last. That was the same day when there was 2 other results doing the rounds.

TYP, I presume it was Donegall Celtic on Saturday?

The Irish League is well known for bent results, if I was a bookie I know I wouldn't be pricing it up.

That's the one I'd heard - but I've heard a bookie had to stop taking bets on another one since!

Surprise surprise!!

It always the usual suspects involved in these matches as well! The Irish News ran a story about this in the paper today about betting being suspended on the game. Wonder what the IFA will do about it? They probably had a few quid on it themselves!
