These results are known in advance, but I don't think it's a financial thing - the same thing happens in leagues all around the world towards the end of the season.  Teams get the results they need, the only difference is that with the betting culture we have, people can take advantage of this advance knowledge and make themselves a few quid off unsuspecting punters (I say punters, because there were virtually no bookies taking bets on the glenavon game, betfair was where most of the action took place).
Besides that, bookies are always on the alert about unusual sized punting, especially on shitty leagues like this, so the most punters will get away with is a few quid which bookies take as an acceptable risk.

A couple of weeks ago I 'joked' with a boy I work with who is a regular at Mourneview to start backing Glenavon everyweek and that he would be rewarded in heaven.  Near p*ssed myself when I saw the score yesterday.

Stew.  FFS!  The IFA this and that....wise up.

Chris, should the IFA be held accountable to clean up it's act or not, every year there are fixed games in this poxy league and nothing gets done to fix the issues.

I thought you would have the wit to realize that the domestic clubs fall under the IFA's umbrella and as such they are responsible for this ridiculous situation given their apathetic attitude towards the issue.

The IFA have corrupt teams, corrupt players and have a mickey mouse, lame arsed initiative called football for all that is a complete joke, their so called national team cant quit fighting among one another and their fans get arrested on away trips.

Meanwhile at the ranch sectarianism has raised it's ugly head again and as usual the fenians get the short end of the stick, oh, one last thing, now the f**king neo nazis are big fans of northern domestic teams with a large loyalist following, FFA as long as you are a billy bhoy or a nazi!

How do you know what the attitude of the IFA is towards the issue?  If there is an issue in the first place.  If there is any wrong doing this should be investigated and dealt with.

Do you genuinely care?  The rest of your rant suggests the answer is no.

Glenavon were 2/5 with Betfair at KO time on Saturday.

Interestimg viewpoint Stew. I presume you'll be sending your evidence of match fixing, to the IFA, so that they can investigate, or do you think they should punish clubs based on some posts on a website? BTW I'm not saying it didn't happen and there are similiar threads on OWC and the IL boards, just that it's very difficult to prove based on anecdotal evidence.

I have no idea what that means. Can you give us some details about these fights between players and arrested fans.

More lies stew. For the thousandth time, the cnuts involved in the attack were not in any way connected to local football and hadn't been anywhere near the match.

How can one determine wrong doing without doing an investigation?
You have previously expressed that you have absolutly no doubt that the match in question should be investigated. That suggests to me that there are reasonable suspicions.
Wrong doing can only be determined after an inquiry into the evidence.
What type of justice system do you inhabit?
Establish wrong doing first, enquire afterwards ???

Chrisowc

Main Street.

It depends on what constitutes an enquiry.  It shouldn't take much to establish if anything ontoward has taken place.

I think you know what I am getting at.
