Are the shops open late in Belfast. If they are I could maybe persuade the missus to drive me up for a bit of shopping then nip in for a few. I'd hate to miss a gathering like this.

Shops are open till 10pm during the week in December.  You could have a look around the Christmas Market and go on the Belfast Eye while you're up here.
