Quote from: statto on June 16, 2026, 09:14:26 AMNot an ideal draw from an Armagh perspective, got what they deserved for not being able to manage out the game against Louth.

This will be a proper championship game with both teams knowing there are no second chances.

From an Armagh perspective I think we need to get Murnin, Hughes and McCambridge into the team for this week to stand any chance. I have big concerns about Armagh around the middle against Kerry who have some huge men.

Blaine's short kick outs would be crucial to help Armagh get primary possession and avoid a repeat of the 15 minutes in Croke Park two years ago.

Hughes
McCambridge McKay Murphy
McCabe TK McQuillan
Murnin JOB
Joe Mc McMullan Duffy
Cian Turbo Conaty

We'd a similar 15 minutes against them in Armagh in the league, think they went 8 points up and that was with Blaine kicking. Would be a huge ask for McCambridge to come back in as he's had little or no football since trying to mark Clifford last year in Croke Park and obviously Peter McGrane isn't getting dropped.

Will Hughes be available? I think last weekend showed (way before the goal) that you need him to be at your best.

I had actually forgotten that spell in the league game, from memory after that Armagh played quite well and where alot better on kickouts.  Crealey played that day who will be a huge loss and Murnin didn't, really don't see Armagh winning if Andy doesn't make it.

Monaghan v Westmeath- fancy Monaghan with home advantage to come through that win over Roscommon and how they have applied themselves in Championship after an awful league should give them confidence.

Mayo v Meath- Meath will have got a big lift after going and winning in Derry, think they can upset the odds here and they will fancy the job against any of the seeds in quarter final.

Dublin v Donegal- Donegal by 5/6 the open spaces of Croke Park will suit Donegal running game and Dubs too open at the back.  Donegal will exploit Dublin's vulnerability in goal.

Yeah we were sensational after that and probably should have won the game. Crealey goes without saying is a huge loss the way the rules are, going by Geezers interview Blaine and Andy should be alright for the weekend. It's do or die time now so if they're half right safer firing them on.

When he's pointing 55 yard frees from the ground with his bad foot come back to us!

Superb display by McCurry though. Saw him earlier in the year and thought he was on the wane big time. Good to see the class is still there

Walsh is having a great campaign, casual viewers might not be appreciating it given who Galway have played so far

Galway are under the radar. They'd be the quarter final that Kerry would want to avoid.

See what you did there

twohands!!!

Current PaddyPower Odds

Kerry 9/4

Donegal 4/1

Galway 9/2

Armagh 11/2

Tyrone 12/1

Cork 18/1

Mayo 20/1

Louth 20/1

Meath 20/1

Monaghan 25/1

Dublin 25/1

Westmeath 40/1

Galway/Tyrone/Cork/Louth odds all obviously affected by already being in the quarter-finals (so only having to win 3 games to win Sam verus the other 8 having to win 4 games.

Those Tyrone huers could be good value at that. Galway and Kerry best placed for me. Hopefully we can upset the applecart on Saturday, would be some result to knock that shower out on home turf

Donegal didn't manage to police the open spaces when Cork were going at them.

The point is the big day. McCurry essentially dragged Tyrone over the line and has done it on the crucial big days many times reliably.

I would like Galway to win Sam if we dont btw, they will need Walsh to deliver what hes capable of.

Galway have a good chance. However, one of Kerry, Donegal or Armagh (in that order) is going to get their act together and that game will determine the outcome.
MAGA Make Armagh Great Again

I can't see anyone but Kerry  winning Sam. They've been there and  done it.

Armagh will put it up to  them for  long stretches but can't see them  get within  6 points.

Kerry  have a couple of injuries, but this is exactly the  type of game they need  at this time, and at home. They'll get the swagger back beating Armagh , and  will push  on from there .
