It has become a drearily familiar scene with the Rossies. Early-summer success frittered away once the temperature increases in the All-Ireland series. They've won four Connacht titles since 2010 – each time, they've exited the championship at the earliest possible stage of the competition thereafter.

Roscommon almost never knock anyone out of the championship these days. They finished above Cavan in the group stage two years ago and beat Tyrone the following weekend – but those two wins in eight days in June 2024 represent 50 per cent of their knock-out wins over the past decade. They finished above Sligo in the group stage in 2023 and beat Armagh in a qualifier in 2018. And that's it.

Would expect better from you Seafóidín, unlike that rhubarb p***k on the Sunday game.
We never lost to 12 men.
I was disappointed to see that result. I always like to see the neighbours doing well, even when ye beat us.

Disgusting comment!!

Ah it's a great comment! Any word Robbie Tasker making a comeback too? He could turn the the screw(driver) on a few lads

The four provinces are represented in the quarter-finals but not by the provincial champions. And of the four already qualified, only Galway played Division One football this spring.

Kildare, Derry, Cavan and Ros lost 2/2 and are out, as far as I can see.

You still here Seafoid?   Tending to agree with Main Street - Monaghan's name is on the cup..

The Boy Wonder

Quote from: Main Street on Today at 06:04:55 PMIt keeps getting better and better, our cup  overflows
Not only do Monaghan get yet another home tie but it's scheduled for Sunday, maximum rest and recovery for our boys, not that they were too overstretched last saturday.  All we need now is for Westmeath  to not turn up, because according to the select  (self appointed) brain's trust of game analysis on this thread,  it's not that Monaghan play well and control a section of a game but rather it's the other team who go missing or don't turn up.

Monaghan are certainly not getting the credit they deserve. After such a poor league, injuries being a major factor, they have re-emerged as the team who were hugely impressive in their quarter-final defeat to Donegal last year.

Meath v mayo. The Handicap has it -1 +1. The hardest game to call. With home advantage just tipping the bookies in mayos favour. For me. This has to be Meaths big performance of the year. So I'm gonna go with Meath by 4. But I'd take a et win of one

If Meath kick the ball long on all their kickouts, they'll win with a bit to spare. Mayo won't be able to compete with them in the air.

Quote from: DaleCooper on Today at 05:22:07 PM5 day rest for Armagh. Very tough assignment but Kerry are not unbeatable in Killarney

Will be harder bet now that Kerry have 12 of their first choice 15 available for selection. Putting the match on Saturday instead of Sunday shows HQ are desperate to have Kerry in All-Ireland Quarter-final.

Can't see Armagh go from losing to Louth to beating Kerry in Killarney in less than a week.

Four winners in Round 3 for me Donegal,Mayo,Monaghan and Kerry

I would be interested to see the reasoninhg/excuses. All said, Armagh have only themselves to blame.

What's the problem with the 6 day turnaround?

Absolutely agree, we completely dominated the MF battle yesterday, in particular, Mayo's restarts.
