Ethan Tremblay

A ruthless win, good to know they have it in them.

Fairly intense around the pitch, the tackling in the forward line to turnover down was pleasure to watch. Down on the other end we're allowing armagh to get short kickouts away without much effort.

A weeks turnaround was harsh today for Down. They seemed burnt out and no plan for Armagh. I don't think they would have won given more time, but certainly would have performed better.

I tend to think of myself as a one man wolfpack...

Know what you're saying Ethan but at the end of the day they got one less day than us.  Not a big difference.  Whether they needed more time to prepare or come down from an emotional high, is neither here nor there.
That's just, like your opinion man.

A point is a point is a point on the scoreboard.

The fisted  point is a manly affair but the hand slapped/push goal is not a pretty thing.

Got to agree with this. I think too much being made of the short turn around. Basically the same for both teams

Armagh had a handy game.Down had a tough game, its down to intensity.

Its a week later, not a day or two. The turnaround times had no bearing on the match today.

Yeah to be fair they had a huge game last week whereas we had a kickabout after 20 minutes.

Quote from: Captain Obvious on May 03, 2026, 05:56:36 PMA surprise to have such a comfortable win. Probably learnt from the Fermanagh game not to have a poor last 20 minutes. Better to win a semi final in extra time with the last kick or win by nearly 30 points?

A penny for the thoughts of Jim McGuinness and his players watching Down today.

No doubt happy enough to have avoided a serious hiding.

Can you explain in any logical way what happened to Donegal against Down?

Wildweasel74

Down geared up 6+months for that game. Zero time to adapt and go again a week later.

Really tough for down to have to get up a level twice in 7 days
Genuinely they looked spent after about 20 mins
No taking away from Armagh though jeez they were ruthless

I wonder what Down's training schedule and sessions were like last week, starting from the day after the Donegal game?

Fsir play to Armagh they were ruthless yesterday. Good team that no one will want to face. Down arent as bad as that scoreline suggests . Armagh were a machine yesterday.

Aaron Boone

You have to ask what was the rush that Down/Armagh had to play the next week.

It was a Down coming in after a major high v a battle-hardened Armagh. Maybe Down were so focused on the Letterkenny game that they simply didn't forward-plan for the Armagh-Fermanagh winners.

Armagh18

Been saying for a while that if we could really click for a full game we'd put a serious score up on someone and that finally happened yesterday.

Hopefully another performance like that against Monaghan the next day who we definitely owe one to. Brilliant to see newer lads like McMullan and McCormack really stepping up yesterday as well.

An Watcher

Not sure how battle hardened armagh were coming off a Fermanagh game as opposed to down, coming off a donegal game.  Take your point on the major high part but both teams had roughly a week to prepare
