opening a Euro bank account

Has anyone from the North got any experience in opening a Euro bank account either in North or South? Need some insights on which bank could offer the following features I need:
Cash deposits
fee free
a debit card

I have no work or home address in South

Don't think you'll get any Current account fee free these days . Revoulut is but there's no option for cash deposits.

If you are lodging cash then you probably want places in the nearest town in south.
If you only want payments then you can transfer to Revolut, if you want cash from atms then Revolut is more limited.

I used to have a bank of Ireland account, closed it due to the fees. Moved to a revolut account and its fantastic. Only thing it won't do for you is cash deposits. You could change to sterling, lodge in Northern account then transfer? Bureau de change rates are not bad.

With a Revolut account, is the exchange rate better/same as physical Bureau de Change?

Say iif heading south for a game and buying dinner etc.

Haven't looked at a Bureau de Change rate in a long, long time...but yes, absolutely.

i get paid direct to revolut, exchange it to ££ - normally get an extra 1.5p/£ and wire it over direct to my day to day banking account then. they do offer monetary rewards for getting people signed up also which is handy. Thanks for the insights. Looked at ESB. Unfortunately it requires you to prove a residential address in The European Economic Area (EEA), which we up North are not anymore.

Revolut, despite having no branches, might be an option as there may be a workaround for euro cash deposits in the North I will investigate. Thanks

I'd double check the EBS, some of these rules were never updated after Brexit.
They are reasonable to deal with, at least compared to Bank of Ireland
