Quote from: tiempo on September 01, 2025, 11:09:24 AMI think he's the kind of player you hate in the opposition but would love in your own team, leaving Villa the right way, left Arsenal with a bit of class too, not a trouble maker at all far as I can tell

Sarcasm?

How do the Villa fans rate him? I've saw a few stats on him over the weekend which weren't great. He comes across a better keeper than the stats suggested.

Reality is that he wasnt good last year overall. That said, I think he's quality and the bigger the games (usually) the better he performs. He's a big presence, a character, a shithouse. Utd pressure would faze him.

He hasnt left villa the right way. He signed a 4 year deal last year spouting about believing the project.  He got sent off ironically v utd and possibly cost Villa CL football. He has been touting himself all over the show this summer and here we are on the final day with a player who wants away, with possibly nowhere to go, and his bridges burned by refusing to play.

And now signed a new deal!

You might want to check your sources on that one.

Apologies - got caught out with a take the piss Sky Sports twitter handle.

I just read there he changed his agent in the summer. They are turning into a massive problem.

Mainoo agent is getting blamed for pushing for a move. Young players need a bit of patience. Ten Haag's agency were allegedly heavily involved in some of the signings in his time. Rashford and his brother. Pogba and Riola back in the day - Ferguson was having none of him.
I do have sympathy for Mainoo, lad was starting for England not so long ago and now can't get into the worst United midfield I can remember. But he does need to have patience and prove he deserves a place.

Villa must be sick, getting left with an unhappy Martinez and signing 2 United duds.

I can understand his frustration but the opportunities will come. He was class at a low point and fans love a youth player coming through.

Can't believe Villa signed Lindelof and Sancho. Anthony was signed for 4 times his actual value and they lost a lot of money on him and he's still a better signing than Sancho.

Lindelof will probably do alright. Most players that have left utd have went on to be decent...feck me even Anthony was good at Betis.

Would have reservations about Sancho though as it seems an attitude problem and not ability

Lindelof is backup really, so no problem with that. Sancho though...

Well in January I thought Villa were getting a lazy useless Rashford and it turned out to be the opposite.

Time will tell with Sancho. How'd his spell at Chelsea go

Sancho is running out  of chances.  I'd imagine if he doesn't get  his act together at Villa , that'll be it for him. And he'll tumble down the leagues , lining out for the likes  of Bradford or  Lincoln.

It does seem like a big part  of the  problem is his attitude. I never seen him in Germany before United , But  anything I have  seen since , I don't see  anything special about him.

Ethan Tremblay

He was grand for dortmund for two years at a relatively young age. An English youth doing well abroad and the hype machine came into play.

He is in last chance saloon with villa, but no doubt a Saudi offer will come his way if things in Europe don't pan out
I tend to think of myself as a one man wolfpack...

Be surprised if Saudi wanted him.

Was talk of issues at Dortmund as well being late for training etc. Worringly United are reportedly going to activate the 1 year contract extension ffs

That was to call his bluff waiting to run his deal out and leave on a free. Risky one though - he seems happy not doing much

Average enough - they weren't interested in keeping him at the money he wanted.

We'll be in the same spot next year, can't see Villa wanting to keep him. Or him wanting to give up a year on big money.

Capt Pat

United spoiled Sancho. Sancho didn't spoil United.

He couldn't be bothered to ever turn up on time.
Too much money, too soon.

Sancho the type of chap who loves to take a dump with the toilet door open.

Utd  a lot of characters who have stunk the place out over the years.  Pogba, Lingard, Anthony, Rashford, Greenwood and Garnacho on top of Sancho. Forgot they were footballers first. Luke Shaw the last left.

How Shaw is still there is unreal. Casemiro another boy stealing a living but in fairness he turns up and puts a shift in and is almost always available. Dalot needs roaded and possibly left and right wing back cover brought  in depending on how Amad gets on and the other young lad on the left.  is a strange one. Unreal player no doubt but a huffy f**ker as well and not a captain.

Andre Onana off to Trabzonspor on season-long loan.
Is the ref going to finally blow his whistle?... No, he's going to blow his nose

He'll have the found memories of his (very) last game for Utd v Grimsby to comfort him as he boards the plane
