Nani is brutal.

Rarely I agree with you but that's spot on. There was a time when his goal and assists made you have to overlook the many annoying traits but the goals and assists have dried up. I would let
DeGea take a pen before Nani.

3 pens missed in a row. Ah well, at least its unlikely to continue Sunday.  :P

carrick ftw. he's still not good enough fornenst the top teams.

Cant watch soccer anymore without nodding off.
United were muck tonight, as they seem to be in Europe on most occasions.

The only good points are a win, clean sheet and the return of Fletcher. The rest was brutal. Liverpool will hardly be quaking in their boots after watching that. :-\

Created a fair amount of chances but failed to score them.

Did you hear George Hamilton tonight "Nani is winger not a finisher & shouldn't be taking penalties" He should know two of United's best penalty takers under fergie was defenders Irwin & Bruce.

At moment United are woeful at penalties even the returning first choice penalty taker Rooney is hit or miss.
The key to success is to be consistently competitive -- if you bang on the door often it will open

Surley RVP should get a go?

Galatasary had 3 stonewall penalties tonite. The one after a fee mins, midway through 1st half when Carrick fouled the player running down the middle and the two clowns commentating reckoned it was a great tackle even after 3 replays show Carrick sliding through the player and never touch the ball and then the one in the last minute. Utds shouts were more 50:50 calls. Nani dived but may have been caught and contact on Valencia was minimal. Poor display by the ref. Commentary woeful beyond belief.

I have never really rated Nani, can be great at times but never consistant and normally average, Valencia doesent posess the same skills but is direct and I would have him any day over Nani

The early one where yer boy nicked the ball ahead of Vidic was a penalty every day of the week and a joke it wasn't given.

Carrick's tackle was a foul every day of the week although I'm not sure if it was def in the box. If it was - def penalty.

Didn't see the last one.

The two United ones were penalties too tbf. Contact is contact.

Carrick's goal was a penalty and a red for the 'keeper had Carrick not put it in the net. I'd have done the same as Carrick. Put it in the net and never worry.

Is it true that Man Utd have missed their last 6 penalties?

granted half of them shouldn't have been awarded in the first place (  ;) ), but is that some sort of record?

Also, Brady I think who said it, but Carrick and Scholes shouldn't be paired together in midfield as neither can run now and Galatasary were running right up the middle at their leisure at times!
What's wrong with Giggs, has the carpet burns on the knees taken their toll?

Nani should have had a stonewall penalty a few minues after he had missed. The penalty Utd did get was a clear pen. The ref wasn't biased -just wasn't good .Galatasary could still be playing now and they still wouldn't have scored.

DeGea was pretty busy for the 90 minutes, so it wasn't as if they didn't create enough chances to score 2 or even 3.

Did they not hit the woodwork 3 times? Said so on BBC anyway.

The bright spots for United were De Gea, Carrick and Kagawa, good to see Fletcher playing again, he looks good physically but his touch and decision making were poor and he could have cost them a goal near the end.

Carrick was excellent, he is beginning to impress more and more (in midfield) and Kagawa was a steal.

Liverpool will play abunch of no names tonight but United looked like a team overlooking the fixture and seem to be honed in on the Liverpool game, surely they are better than that.

I hope you are right but I'm not sure. Surley after what happened last year in the group stages lastnight should have been full hog?

rodney trotter

Yeah what that meant was they had no luck, ie hitting the post more than once and De Gea being on top form on the night .. I should have made it a bit clear... I'm sorry Hardstation if you had no idea what i meant, hopefully you will soon recover :)
