I think they would be delighted with that especially given how late Tally was to the party. They could do without a league final too given in preliminary round of Ulster and the fact they play Donegal.

What is your rationale for being so confident of beating Donegal? Do you not think Harte playing his best team week in week out last year had an impact on energy levels/player availability later in the year?

I thought Derry were going to be serious serious contenders after the league final last year.

I thought Derry were going to be serious serious contenders after the league final last year. 

Definitely had an impact, I noticed a real drop off in quality in particular from couple of Glen lads who didn't get a break at all. Rushing off to a training camp with only a 3 week window was madness. To go from a league winning high to try and push the lads to step up to another level was unrealistic.

Donegal played put of their skins that day we were shocking and got beat by 6. They scored 15 times to Derrys 17. Yes goals killed us but we missed a couple good goal chances. Theres no massive gap to be closed. Jimmy's doing what he done before, thriving off the hype getting them bought in push them to absolute limit for 3 maybe 4 years and disappear again.

First paragraph, the Glen men shouldn't have played in Tralee, prob everyone agrees. But they all did get rest during the league. The drop off in play was only seen post Portugal. That 1st half in Celtic Pk in the Donegal game, it was clear as day there was something up. Zero zip, minimum support runs etc...but this is old ground

We're a better team than Donegal, it's as simple as that. The fact our wheels came off after that training camp won't change that this year .

Shadow of the team weve been used to this last few years. Squad depth is non existent. We are in a really tough place and I hate to say it but the new rules dont suit this team
