On Mayos kick out Derry have this zonal marking shit which simply doesnt f**king work. Went the whole game didn't change it. Some players were having a mare but seen out the game. That's a serious management issue. With the goalkeeping rule now changed we need a back up keeper which is a actually keeper.
100% correct, the lads not a goalie doesn't look comfortable out there and struggles with kickouts.

Theres defenders on that Derry team think standing staring into a forwards face with their back to the ball is man marking.
Continuously carrying the ball into stupid position, giving a fist pass to a man who man has two men around him. This attitude of it's not my man so its someone else's problem is very very clear to be seen.

We get half back/midfield and we are waiting on someone on the overlap when Mc Guigan and Loughlin have about 3 runs made and not got the ball.

Paddy Tally in it for the long haul it seems.

He has written this year off already. A fraud.

I don't know why he's saying a rebuild, there was a strong enough team there. It was strengthening it. I like to know what our attacking tactic is, foreby getting it to Shane McGuigan. Why was Ruane not picked up after scoring a few points. He made it to 6 and still not tagged. It's his zonal marking mindset that beats me. Only Galway really use that.

Watching Enda McGinley stealing a wage on RTE tonight. Who is the McCusker he referred to as missing from the Derry defence today? And I'm not sure Patrick McGurk is Johnny's son?

He was appointed so late, I think he deserves another year whatever happens for the rest of the season. He didn't get a chance to watch the club championship where he might've got a few players to add to the squad which is threadbare.

I'm wrong again, as usual. Thought maybe Kieran's lad.
Patrick looks like an addition.

A rebuild of a team that were league champions and AI Quarter finalists? Sounds like someone making excuses. You can make a case that it is difficult without key players but that has been an issue for a while- very limited depth in the squad. Tally was supposed to be a defensive guru. I have never seen us so porous at the back. Teams just walk through us.

I also thought Tally declaring this year a 'scrub year' sets the tone. Players thinking well the league probably cost us longer term last year and Tally isn't too bothered either way. We need a massive improvement in 3 weeks to just avoid a doing.

I honestly couldn't care less about the Donegal game. It has to be all about getting the squad fit and ready for the Sam Maguire.

Derry: Odhran Lynch (inj); Conor McCluskey (inj), Chrissy McKaigue (ret), Diarmuid Baker; Conor Doherty (0-01), Eoin McEvoy (2-02), Pádraig McGrogan; Conor Glass (0-02, 1 '45'), Brendan Rogers (inj) (0-01); Ethan Doherty (0-01), Ciaran McFaul (inj) Paul Cassidy; Niall Loughlin (0-02), Shane McGuigan (1-04, 1-00 pen, 0-02f), Lachlan Murray (inj)(0-03, 1m).

Subs: Gareth McKinless (inj) for McGrogan (ht), Niall Toner (0-02) for McKinless (52), Cormac Murphy for Loughlin (66), Donncha Gilmore (inj) for P Cassidy (70), Emmett Bradley (ret)for Murray (77), Declan Cassidy for McKaigue (81), Eunan Mulholland for C Doherty (88).

That's the squad that played against Dublin in last years League Final. By my count: 7 out injured now (3 of which won't be seen in Derry colours again this season); 2 are now retired from county duty; And add in that Murphy, McGrogan and Laughlin have been out with long term injuries.

Squad strength Lenny doesn't explain his shear lack of tactics, on opposition  kickouts, not picking up players causing serious damage, lack of hard tacking, not shadowing. I really can't see what our attacking set up is,  as we don't kickpass early to the front 3 with all that space.People wanted Harte gone, and I wasn't fussed on him been appointed but he was the best option left at the time. This year I think we went bck, some of it due to bad luck, injuries but I don't think management a improvement from previous one.
